With Mars into its own sign of Aries until June 9th, it's time for action and initiation.
For the entire Aries season, including the April 8th north node new moon eclipse in Aries, Aries' ruler, Mars, has been adrift in dreamy Pisces. But no more. Mars has landed strong in its own sign, just one day after Venus landed in hers, and he is ready to make up for lost time. This is where the rubber meets the road!

The Queen Returns to Her Realm ~ April 29th to May 23rd ~ Blessings Abound!
But first, prepare for Our Lady of Love & Money's tangle with Pluto as a first order of business upon returning to her Queendom. Venus will land in Taurus the morning of Monday, April 29th - that's in North America - and immediately square Pluto in Aquarius Wednesday, May 1st, as Pluto stations retrograde Thursday, May 2nd. This week is going to be another Plutonic one, but it's going to be worth it. As Mars passes by Neptune in Pisces today, you have an opportunity to access magic and harness it towards making your dreams reality. And, there's a catch, so let's discuss! As Mars moves through the final degrees of Pisces it's passing by Neptune today.
Mars is ruler of Aries, the fire sign that is the sign of self. Mars is all about motivation, drive, and self-assertion. Pisces, on the other hand, is the mutable water sign, it's about going with the flow. While Mars is the warrior and protector, Pisces is non-confrontational. Pisces can be avoidant and escapist. So when our warrior, Mars, is in Pisces, we can have a hard time going directly after what we want. We might even have a hard time defining a strong sense of self and individualization. Pisces wants to connect - it's all about the concept that we are all one, like drops of water in the ocean, while Mars is about the self. As Mars and Neptune rendezvous in Pisces, the magic we can access is Mars boosting our drive and enthusiasm to chase down our dreams. The mayhem shows up if we are ungrounded and unrealistic, allowing ourselves to be pulled too far into "fantasy-land." You don't get what you want, you get what you BELIEVE - that means what you believe is possible for you and what you believe you are worthy and deserving of having. Period. As the waning gibbous moon finishes its cruise through Sagittarius today, we may be feeling the "call to freedom," especially after that big Scorpio full moon release on Tuesday.
The waning gibbous moon is always a time for slowing down and focusing on appreciating the full moon "harvest" as the dust settles from whatever came to light at the lunar climax. With Tuesday's full moon being in Scorpio and square Pluto, coming on the heels of the eclipses, it likely brought up some deep truths to be reckoned with, and ultimately was about letting go of any attachments to the past that would keep us from moving forward. Water full moons can get a little soggy, and the moon moving into a fire sign immediately after always feels nice, like warming up next to a fire. Mercury's recent retrograde in Aries, crossing paths with both the north node of soul growth/destiny and Chiron in Aries layered with the spring eclipses on the Aries-Libra axis of the zodiac has had us upleveling our sense of self and our relationships. Old unhealthy patterns of being in relationships have been brought to our attention for release as we have been called to embody a stronger sense of self. Mercury is both our thinking and communication. A retrograde in Aries isn't just about more bold and direct authentic self-expression, it's about renewed identity - upgraded self-perception. Mercury moving back and forth over Chiron during this retrograde meant as part of this process we were healing old wounds to self that were keeping us doubting ourselves, shrinking, not speaking up, and playing small. So here we are, fresh out of Mercury retrograde, integrating all the healing we've been doing over April, in the final waning moon release before the May 7th new moon and Mercury's third and final aspect to Chiron in Aries - "the resolution." It's the perfect time to talk about communication in relationships - specifically how the energy beneath the words - your energy - is the key to getting the results you want - the love you want.
Mercury is finally stationing direct tomorrow morning, but count it on now, and slow down today and tomorrow, because the days when Mercury is stationing is always the trickiest part of the retrograde, when the retrograde energy is "up" and active. Mercury stationed retrograde in Aries back on April 1st, while we were still in the eclipse portal, before the April 8th Aries new moon eclipse.
Remember when I said that that new moon eclipse new beginning wouldn't be fully landing in your life until late April/early May? Well we're just now getting to that part - Mercury stationing direct tomorrow is the first part of this. Venus into its own sign of Taurus on the 29th and Mars into Aries on the 30th is the next piece, and Mercury's third and final conjunction with Chiron in Aries on May 7th the same day as the Taurus new moon brings it all home. The Scorpio full moon is exact as I'm writing this. A full moon in Scorpio, square its own ruler Pluto, coming on the heels of an eclipse portal opened by a south node full moon eclipse in Libra has my mind on the Greek myth of Persephone and her abduction by Hades (Pluto).
As the myth goes, Persephone, the kore, or maiden, daughter of the powerful goddess of the harvest, Demeter, was out in a meadow picking narcissists when a great crack in the earth opened up and Hades' chariot pulled by black horses came out and snatched her up, taking her back down into the Underworld. Her mother tries to get her back, but since Persephone has eaten the pomegranate seeds, her fate is sealed. She spends six months of the year with her mother, Demeter - summer, and the other six months of the year with Hades as the queen of the Underworld, during which Demeter mourns - winter. Persephone's abduction actually ends up being a catalyst for her coming into her own power as Queen of the Underworld. In fact, because she rules the Underworld, she becomes the most powerful goddess - even more powerful than her great mother. Persephone becomes a guide for souls lost in the Underworld. Some even go so far to say the myth is documenting the change in society from a more matriarchal culture to a patriarchal culture. They assert that Hades abducted Persephone because he had asked Demeter for her hand in marriage and she had refused, and he actually needed Persephone to officially secure his throne. This idea comes from the historical documentation of cultures before this being more goddess-focused than god-focused. All of a sudden there is a shift in society from matriarchal to patriarchal happening, but the beliefs of the people were still biased to the goddess. This only adds to the idea that Persephone was immensely more powerful than she knew, overshadowed by her mother until she found herself alone fending for herself in the Underworld. Then and only then did she find her power and claim her true throne. And how often in today's modern world do women find themselves in a relationship that forces them to realize their real power and reclaim their inner throne? How many of these women grew up in the shadow of a mother who felt over protective, overpowering, overwhelming, or domineering? Maybe this is you. If so, it's time to reclaim the throne of your heart and step into your full power. If you're ready to take this journey, I am here to guide you. Well this is a dramatic full moon, packed with signature Scorpio deep-diving intensity and fueled by ruler Pluto, bringing emotional catharsis and release. The full moon one month ago was the "breakaway" point - the south node full moon eclipse in Libra trine Pluto in Aquarius. Today's full moon in Scorpio square Pluto is the final release and purging. It's time to LET GO. Pluto is about power, but Pluto's lessons are always, deep down, about letting go. It's the letting go that allows us to reclaim the personal power that's been tied up in holding on.
Imagine it like this: all the astrology over the past few weeks has been calling you to uplevel to a new dimension, pulling you, and you feel the pull and you are moving in that direction, aligning with the emerging future you, but suddenly, its feeling painful, like you are caught between dimensions, caught between worlds. It's because the cords of the past are still attached. Venus Conjunct Chiron & Sun Square Pluto April 21st, 2024: Alchemizing Pain Into Strength & Wisdom4/21/2024 If you've been going through the ringer since around March 20th, the turning point in your healing journey has arrived - but stay alert to insecurities triggering power dynamics.
Today, Venus in Aries is going to be passing by Chiron in Aries, but at the same time, the Taurus sun (under Venus' rule) is squaring up to Pluto in Aquarius on it's way to Tuesday's Scorpio full moon climax and release. This means that there's a definite possibility that deep fears and insecurities might get triggered. The trick is to stay aware of motives and focus on reclaiming your personal power from it. True power has no need to control or manipulate - this happens inside of you. Don't be surprised if you are being called to let go of something for good between now and mid-week. The Jupiter-Uranus conjunction has arrived! This new cycle beginning (think: expansion, growth, and innovation in the realm of resources and earthly abundance) is being made all the more potent by a boost from bold Mars in idealistic Pisces.
We've been doing big work since around the March equinox around sense of self, identity, and self-value, and now it's time to boldly go where we haven't dared go before - it's time to transcend those upper limits and expand into a new level of love and abundance in our lives. I just have one question: have you created the strong roots and foundation to make this expansion sustainable for you? |
