Successfully Navigating from the 1/17 Full Moon to the 2/16 Full Moon: Lead with your Heart.

Another full moon and another full moon to full moon success spread!

I've been calling January a "transition month," and most of the transition is happening in these final two weeks, from the 1/17 full moon through the 1/31 new moon. 

On 1/14, Mercury stationed retrograde, then we had the Cancer full moon on 1/17.  On 1/18 Uranus stations direct in Taurus square Mercury retrograde in Aquarius, moving us forward into the new, but not without addressing the way we think about things and/or rehashing past experiences. 

On 1/19 the north node (point of destiny, growth, and increase) enters Taurus for the next year and a half, and then on 1/23 Mercury reaches the heart of its retrograde journey and the big "aha moment" - more below. 

On 1/25 Mercury backs into Capricorn, while on 1/29 Venus, retrograde in Capricorn since 12/19, stations direct in trine to Uranus freshly direct in Taurus.  Venus retrograde is a journey to review values and deep down our self worth, which many times brings past lovers or relationship dynamics back into our lives to jog our memories - as she stations direct with support by change-bringer Uranus, we are looking at a bright new beginning in our lives. 

​Then we arrive at the new moon in Aquarius on 1/31, and that's only the halfway point of this full moon to full moon cycle!  That's quickly followed by Mercury stationing direct in Capricorn - then it's all forward.

​The Success Spread

This is the short and sweet spread I used for this reading, asking specifically what was needed for success for the coming month, from this August 22nd full moon at 29 degrees Aquarius to the coming full moon on September 20th at 28 degrees Pisces.  (The deck is Shadowscapes.)

What the Cards Are Saying About the Coming Month:

​Overview:  There are big changes afoot this month, especially between the 1/17 full moon and 1/31 new moon.  This month as we prepare to embrace the new and implement our vision for living our best life, it is time to step into our inner authority, refine and align our ideas and beliefs to match our core values, shore up our self worth and belief in our own deservingness, stay the course and keep diligently crafting the web that will support us, and keep working towards mastery of skills.  Ultimately this month, we are successful when we reclaim the thrones of our hearts and as sovereign, heart-centered, rulers of our realms, supported by the strong foundation of our unshakable truths, core values, and personal beliefs, step into being the wise, compassionate, and inspirational leaders we were always meant to be.

Card 1:  The Emperor, Reversed

Card number 1 represents the main concern of the spread, or in our case, the main obstacle to success over the coming month.   Here we have the Emperor, reversed, telling us to find and step into our own inner authority this month.  There are a lot of changes taking place now, especially from the January 17th full moon to the January 31st new moon.  It's time to assess our relationship with power and authority.  It's time to take responsibility for ourselves and step into our own inner authority, and show up in integrity and with discipline.  It's time to reclaim the thrones of our hearts and set up the foundation, structure, and systems that support us and our goals moving forward - that includes healthy boundaries too.

The Emperor, Reversed

Mercury stationed retrograde on January 14th in Aquarius, and will actually move back into Saturn-ruled earth sign Capricorn to station direct on February 3rd, just after the Aquarius new moon.  Mercury is the mind, thinking, ideas, and communications, and when it retrogrades it is in review mode.  Aquarius is the sign of the future and innovation, and Capricorn is the sign of making things happen in the real world.  We are reviewing how we are going to be manifesting the new in the very near future - how we want to bring our new and innovative ideas into being in reality.  The Emperor reversed here is telling us that now is the time to make sure we have all of the groundwork in place for the new we are starting to move into this month.  Mercury reaches the heart of its retrograde on 1/23 just before backing into Capricorn on 1/25 - this will be an "aha moment."

Side note:  There were three squares between Uranus in Taurus and Saturn in Aquarius over the course of 2021 that defined the year - the first was February 17th, the second was June 14th, and the third was December 24th.  With these squares we found ourselves restless to breakthrough into the new but being frustratingly held back.  What did you learn about foundation and structure and being ready for big change, doing the groundwork, laying the foundation, and creating a landing pad to hold the new in your life?  Looking back, can you see how 2021 guided you to do this? Also this is a check point between last year's 11/19 eclipse and the coming 5/16 eclipse.  Jupiter was involved in November, indicating gifts and good fortune, and Saturn will be involved in May - how have you used/are you using the resources/gifts that came with the 11/19 eclipse?  When Saturn holds you accountable in May, will you be celebrating or "paying the piper?"

Ace of Swords, Reversed

Card 2:  The Ace of Swords, Reversed

Card number two in this spread shows us current challenges and complications we are facing.  The Ace of Swords reversed here makes sense showing up in position two, since we are still in the midst of Mercury and Venus retrograde, ending 2/3 and 1/29, respectively.  As the suit of swords is the element of air, and speaks to the mind, thinking, and ideas, and aces are beginnings, this aligns especially with Mercury currently retrograde in Aquarius (although, ending on solid ground in Capricorn).  

Things might feel "up in the air."  We are in the midst of birthing new ideas and/or refining ones we have already birthed.  We are forming and editing, honing and refining.  We might even be redefining.  Beliefs may be up for review right now as well, as we create the perfect solid foundation to hold us as we move forward into our chosen new.  An aha moment is coming on 1/23 when Mercury RX goes cazimi and makes its inferior conjunction to the sun, light of consciousness.  More information is coming to light all the way through February 3rd.

Card 3:  The Lovers, Reversed

Card 3 shows us the hidden factors in the situation.  The Lovers, reversed, points to a possible misalignment or internal conflict around values.  Like I mentioned above, as we review our ideas and how to bring them into reality, especially through February 3rd, we may also be by default moving through a review of our beliefs and rooting out the ones that are no longer serving or are limiting us from our envisioned best lives.  This is a card of Venus, and Venus is currently retrograde in Capricorn until January 29th, so a review of personal values, truths, and beliefs is right on time for this period.  

The Lovers, Reversed

Just one day after the Cancer full moon, Uranus stationed direct in Taurus on January 18th.  Venus will be stationing direct on January 29th in Capricorn in supportive aspect to Uranus, earth to earth.  Our review of our foundation of personal truths, beliefs, value, and even value of self is all-important right now as it is preparing us for the new that awaits as Venus stations direct 1/29, we arrive at the Aquarius new moon on 1/31, and then Mercury stations direct on 2/3.

Card 4:  8 of Pentacles

Card 4 shows us our allies this month - the situations, ideas, people, or even mindset that will support us in successfully navigating from the 1/17 full moon to the 2/16 full moon.  The 8 of Pentacles is the card of skill and mastery, beautifully represented in the image shown here of the spider patiently crafting her web, her universe.  This card says stay the course, keep showing up, keep doing what you are doing, and keep working at it every day.  Slow and steady here.  Attention to detail.  Mastering your craft with daily practice.  Stay true to your values and beliefs.  Practice your art with devotion.  What are you doing every day to build your universe - the web that will sustain you?

 Card 5:  King of Wands, Reversed
 
Card 5 tells us what we ultimately need to do to successfully navigate the next month, from the 1/17 Cancer full moon to the 2/16 Leo full moon.  The King of Wands is about mastery of the suit of wands, the element of fire - inspiration, enthusiasm, passion, motivation, and creative self-expression.   The King reversed suggests we are not quite ready to step into the leadership role we are being called to - this is echoed in card one with the Emperor reversed calling us to step into our inner authority.  Card one suggests we need that inner authority as our foundation to be able to embrace the calling of card five.

The King of Wands, Reversed

The pathway to success now is about staying true to your core and firmly seated upon the throne of your heart, rooted in your values and personal beliefs.  It's about leading from the heart, and aligning your personal goals with both your highest good and the highest good of those around you, creating a supportive network all the way around.
