If this Christmas is feeling a little heavy, here's why. (Plus good news - the vibe is lifting as early as next week!) Read on to find out why this holiday weekend feels so intense and the underworld mythology that helps us understand these energies. Just yesterday, on December 24th, after an intense week of buildup, we made it through the third and final Saturn-Uranus square of 2021. The first one was February 17th, and the second was June 14th, and if you haven't heard about it, it is that feeling of restlessness while being restricted and held back. Uranus wants change, innovation, and liberation, and can achieve that via disruption and upheaval, while Saturn in square to it throws on the brakes. All of this year, this energy has been coming up strong and then backing off, and mid-December through yesterday was its final surge. It's beginning to dissipate now, but will be lingering all the way through the 31st, as these are slow moving planets. Now it's just a matter of holding the line and riding out these last few days of feeling frustrated with as much patience and grace as possible.
If today (Saturday, December 25th) felt intense, like you were obsessed with having something that felt out of reach (fueled by yesterday's Saturn-Uranus stand off amplifying the feeling of not being able to get what you want), and it also pinged some deep-seated self-worth and insecurity issues that brought up power dynamics, you were feeling today's Venus-Pluto conjunction. This is a fresh start, but it isn't that simple - it is more like we are giving birth to something brand new - and as you might imagine, birthing isn't always a comfortable process. But it is more than that. Make no mistake, these two together today have us swirling in ancient mythology of two different tales of the underworld. First, a little bit about Venus conjunct Pluto in Capricorn. Venus is resources and relationships, and how we attract our desires into our lives by aligning with them. At the heart of everything Venus is our value of ourselves - our self-worth. Pluto is the Roman version of the Greek Hades, ruler of the underworld, and associated with power, death, rebirth, transformation, regeneration, sex, wealth, intensity, and the shadow self. When any two planets come together in conjunction, it is a blending of their energies through the energetic prism of the sign they are in, and the beginning of a new cycle. So, this is an intense and deep-diving beginning involving love and money, hinging on our values and self-worth, and since it is happening in Capricorn, it is the start of something built to last. However, it isn't just one conjunction, it is a series of three in a row, because on December 19th, after her initial December 11th hook up with Pluto, Venus stationed retrograde. Today's (December 25th) is the second. The third and final of this series of conjunctions won't be until early March, and will have a third planet in the mix, as Mars is escorting Venus in both Capricorn and Aquarius from mid-February through mid-March. The first conjunction on December 11th was the initiation of this birth, the initial spark of desire. Today's conjunction, the second in the series of three with Venus freshly retrograde, is a follow-up and review (and why it may feel more challenging). The third conjunction in early March will be the resolution and big finale - the actual "birth" of the new. The story goes that as Demeter was trying to rescue her daughter, a deal was made that Persephone would be returned as long as she had not eaten anything in the Underworld, but not knowing that she ended up eating several pomegranate seeds. Thus she becomes bride of Hades and Queen of the Underworld. Her mother, the harvest goddess went into mourning, and winter came. To satisfy both Hades and Demeter, the arrangement was made that Persephone would spend six months out of the year in the underworld (winter) and six with Demeter (summer). In the meantime, Persephone went through her own transformation, accepting her fate and stepping into her new role as the most powerful goddess, Queen of the Underworld, and became known for helping lost souls upon their arrival to the Underworld. This myth has many themes, but one of them is about accepting "what is" and facing the shadows to uncover our greatest powers. This is one reason Pluto is associated with both power and wealth - the greatest treasures are found where humans are most afraid of going. The Sumerian Myth of Inanna's Descent As Venus and Pluto come together now in Capricorn, there is a second underworld myth swirling about with this interplay of energy, associated with Venus retrograde: the Sumerian myth of Inanna's Descent. The Sumerian goddess Inanna was associated with the planet Venus, and it was specifically the myth of her descent to the Underworld to face her shadow, die to the old consciousness, and be reborn whole unto herself, that was associated with Venus' retrograde. In the myth, Inanna, Queen of Heaven and Earth, puts her ear to the Great Below and becomes conscious of her shadow, her sister and Queen of the Underworld, Ereshkigal. Inanna sets out on her journey and descends through the Seven Gates of the Underworld. At each gate she is instructed to remove one of her seven royal garments to gain passage, one for each chakra, and she enters to meet her sister naked and bowed low. Her sister, her shadow, enraged, kills her immediately and hangs her body on meat hooks. After three days, Inanna is rescued by the God of Wisdom, Enki, and brought back to life, reborn to a new consciousness. She has become aware of and faced her shadow, and is now "whole unto herself." This myth is about our journey to "whole" ourselves, to meet the parts we have disowned and tried to bury, and reintegrate them. This is the myth of Venus retrograde, which is on from December 19th until she emerges reborn on January 29th, and in helpful aspect to bringer of changes, Uranus. With all of that swirling round us in the ethers, it is no wonder this weekend may be feeling edgy and intense. There's a lot of growth happening, and something new being birthed, but with Venus and Pluto we are also being given a portal to our own Shadowlands on this holiday weekend, which is bound to be uncomfortable. The good news is, the Venus-Pluto conjunction is done as of early next week, and Saturn-Uranus is already dissipating (although we may feel it lingering through the 31st). Although we are going to be on the Venus retrograde journey until late January, next week is going to be feeling much better. Look for a vibe lift midweek as Jupiter leaves Aquarius (for good) and heads into it's home turf of Pisces. This is the Art of Consciously Creating Life. Are you ready to shift your life? Hi, I'm Kasey. Welcome to the Art of Consciously Creating Life!
The way out begins with some very small shifts in the way we approach life and how we look at things, and this gets us out of our familiar negative feedback loop and gets us started in a positive feedback loop, and after that, we gain momentum. This is the simple life shift that gets things snowballing in the right direction, and when it happens it feels indescribably good. It is when you get your mojo back, when you reclaim your throne, when you take back your power and reclaim your rightful place as sovereign ruler of your realm. If this sounds like something you would like to experience in your life, I'm here to support and guide you every step of the way. I will show you how in six one-on-one sessions over six weeks in Shift It, my transformational coaching "boot-camp," where we focus in and bring this shift about together. It only takes us 21 days to create a habit, and this is all about thinking habits, emotional habits, and energy habits, and shifting them to ones that support where we want to be. The moon in astrology is the second luminary. The sun is the first luminary, and creates its own light. The moon as the secondary luminary reflects the sun's light. The sun is the "light of consciousness," and the moon represents the subconscious. The moon is our intuition and emotions, and as it transits the zodiac each month, its movement through the zodiac signs and its interaction with the planets as it goes gives us our day-to-day feels, vibes, and moods. The moon represents how we feel good about ourselves and life, so its sign placement and aspects are influences on our daily lives. And the moon moves fast, taking only about 2 1/2 days to transit each sign, so it is always changing. The moon is said to be void-of-course when it has finished making all of its planetary aspects from the sign it is currently in and is just cruising to the cusp of the next sign where it will begin the process all over again. When the moon is done making aspects in the sign it is in, and thus void, it is like it goes offline. It is simply done with its communications from that sign. When this happens, however, we are then no longer getting information from the moon. This is why void moons matter, especially if they fall during the day on weekdays when we are most likely to be more active in life. When the moon is void, we will tend to feel disconnected and directionless. That's why void moons are not the times to be making big decisions and big purchases, or have meetings. Void moons are also not good times for starting new things. When we try to push our agenda with big decisions and "making things happen" on a void moon, it can feel beyond frustrating, like repeatedly slamming into a wall. So what are void moons good for? Void moons are best suited to playing catch up and wrapping up unfinished business or projects. They are also great for doing routine admin, errands, and to-do's. Void moons are also excellent times to get extra rest and personal time. My recommendation is to note major void moons (the ones that are more than a couple of hours and occur during weekdays) and mark those days for taking care of routine to-do's and or resting and playing catch up. You can even have a "void moon file" or stack of projects that you save for those days specifically. Additionally, if you mark the major void moons on your calendar ahead of time, you will know not to schedule any big meetings and to stay away from things like launches or buying new cars or appliances. Working with void moons in this way can help you align and flow with the rhythms of life and feel more ease as you move through your days! I am currently working on all of the void moon dates and times for 2022, and they will be up on the website soon. Introducing Shift It.... I believe that every one of us has the right to a life we love, no exceptions, and the fastest pathway to experiencing more happiness, more excitement, more joy, and more love every single day begins with us, on the inside. It's all about the energy. Unfortunately, most of us have learned how to be dissatisfied and critical rather than happy and optimistic, and the thing is, the more we stay in that energy, the more we pull experiences that match that into our lives. As the sun moves into Capricorn on Tuesday, December 21st, at 8:59 a.m. (MST), we arrive at solstice, one of the four points of the wheel of the year. Winter solstice marks the longest night of the year, and the shortest day, and the day when the light begins to return and our days start getting longer again. This is the time when we thank the darkness for its gifts and welcome the return of the light. Winter Solstice Lore The white stag with the sun disc (and later a cross) sitting between its antlers is a common image for winter solstice, and it has a rich history in Celtic lore. There are associations with the horned god, Cernunnos. The Horned God is born at the winter solstice, marries the goddess at Beltane, and then dies at the summer solstice, only to be reborn again for a new cycle. The antlers of the white stag connect this earthly animal to the spirit realms. But if we trace this legend farther north, winter solstice was known as "Mother's Night," and was when female reindeer (only female reindeer keep their antlers over the winter - the males shed theirs) pulled the sleigh of the Mother, or the sun goddess, at this solstice. In both cases, winter solstice was the night that the sun, or "son," is born. Winter solstice is the point of year that marks the return of the life-giving light. Capricorn, Saturn, and the Sea Goat Winter solstice (in the northern hemisphere) is exact when the sun arrives at zero degrees Capricorn, and this marks the beginning of Capricorn season. This of course also marks the longest night of the year and the shortest day, and one of the four major turning points of the wheel of the year. Winter solstice marks a big shift for us: a rebirth--the beginning of a new solar cycle. Capricorn is the Saturn-ruled sign of cardinal earth, the sign of making things happen in the material realms. We see Capricorn these days associated with the goat, or mountain goat, and mountainous terrain--the epitomy of strong earth vibe, but in the past, the symbol for Capricorn was not actually a mountain goat, but a "sea goat." And when you stop and think about it, this makes perfect sense. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the Roman god of the harvest. This ties into the Saturn/Capricorn fondness of systems, rules, discipline, responsibility, limits, boundaries, and showing up to take the action steps that make things happen in the material world. Like, showing up every day to tend crops from which we wish to collect a harvest. Capricorn and the sea goat can be traced back to ancient Sumerian civilization and the god of wisdom, Enki. Ancient Sumeria was the culture that came after the Babylonians in Mesopotamia. One of the main reasons that Sumerian culture flourished was that ancient Sumerians figured out how to dig irrigation channels to bring water to their farmlands and their cities. That means at the very heart of Capricorn is the alchemy of earth and water (and sun) to produce an environment that sustains life--that supports us living in the material world, which is indeed earthly wisdom. Honoring Winter Solstice With this solstice, with sun into Capricorn (in the northern hemisphere), we begin the winter season. We honor the element of earth and the direction of the north--wisdom, knowledge, and ancestors. Light up this longest night of the year with a bright fire, to thank the darkness for its regenerative gifts and welcome the return of the light. Write a letter of gratitude and of release and offer it to the flames for transmutation. Write your wishes for the new year out on individual dried bay leaves and read them aloud one by one as you offer them to the powerful magic of the fire as well. Stare into the flames and envision your bright future for the coming year. This is the time for letting go and for planting new seeds--the seeds we will start to see the emergence of above ground with Aries season, when the light gets strong enough to warm the land. This is where we begin. In every new beginning, there is an ending. In every "moving toward," there is inherent release. There has to be. And while our words are spells, and fire is potent magic, words and fire by themselves are not enough. We have to make the inner shift down to our bones, down to the very core foundation of our beings. We have to shift our energy, shift our attention and focus, and shift our beliefs. Now is the time to put the past where it belongs--in the past. Now is the time to commit to focusing our attention, in every moment of every single day moving forward, on creating our future, and that means holding the vibration of being where we right now. The final step of letting go is really being done with it and focusing our attention elsewhere. Don't analyze it, don't talk about it, don't justify it, don't explain it. Simply be done with it. Period. And that does not mean switching focus to out in the future, to worry, to thinking about what you want and don't have and analyzing how to get it. It means keeping the focus in feeling satisfied and content in the present moment. It means keeping the focus all the time on appreciation of what we have. It means committing to feeling good every day no matter what, trusting and knowing that when we do that, we attract more satisfaction, contentment, ease, love, joy, appreciation, and abundance to us. It has no choice but to multiply in our lives. This is the Art of Consciously Creating Life! Wishing you a very happy solstice!
~Kasey In our last monthly success spread that covered from the full moon eclipse November 19th until the recent full moon in Gemini on December 18th, the "situation card" was the 5 of Pentacles, reversed, which signified an end of difficult times. This week, we are approaching our third and final square between Saturn and Uranus for this year, and with that, we are ending a several-year-long phase of challenging aspects between Saturn and the outer planets. With the climax of this Saturn-Uranus square on December 24th (the resolution aspect), we really are closing out a difficult phase. December 28th sees Jupiter return to Pisces (and full gift-bringing power) for the first few months of the year, and January will be a month of transition, as we have Uranus stationing direct January 18th, the north node moving into Taurus on January 19th, Venus stationing direct trine Uranus on January 29th, and Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all clearing their summer retrograde shadows by the end of the month. All year, Uranus has us pushing to break free, while Saturn keeps holding us in place, and it's been going on all year long. This may cause us to over-effort and rev high yet still end up spinning our wheels and going nowhere. This sort of holding pattern for so long can be exhausting. So, it is no surprise that the situation card, card number 1, for this month's reading is the 4 of Swords. It may be the holiday season, but the message is clear, it is time to rest and recuperate. Solitude is solace now.
What the Cards Are Saying About the Coming Month: Overview: Rest is your friend this month. That's what is being called for. Solitude is solace. Get your healthy boundaries ready - know your needs and communicate them clearly. This isn't just the current situation, it is our ally this month. It is time for self-healing, realignment, and restoring balance in our lives and in the systems of our beings. New inspiration and opportunities are near, but we aren't aware of them just yet. This month is our time to let go of the past so that we can be prepared to jump into the excitement and creativity of life again when it presents itself. The astrology of 2022 has a very different, and much more supportive energy about it. Now is our time to get ready.
Taking that into consideration, our "ally" in this case seems to be our ability to allow and fully embrace the pause that the current situation is calling for. We are being told that the most supportive thing to do is to "go with the flow," or steer into the skid, as I say. We are all over these challenges from Saturn putting the brakes on everything. We are all over feeling held back and restricted. This final square between Saturn and Uranus is exact on December 24th, and after that, things lighten up, but January is, for the most part, a month of transition. The good stuff that 2022 is bringing doesn't really get cracking until the January 31st new moon. (Although we will feel an opening in the energy as soon as December 28th, as this Saturn square dissipates and Jupiter moves out of Aquarius and into Pisces.)

It's the final week leading into the third and final Saturn-Uranus square of this year - the most dominant energy of 2021, and it's exact on Christmas Eve. The third and final square in a series of three is the one that brings resolution, one way or another, and this particular planetary situation, as we already know, is a tricky bit of business. Below are five tips for working with the energies at play this week. First, a little about the energy of this year's Saturn-Uranus square. All of this year, Saturn in Aquarius has been challenging Uranus in Taurus via a square - a challenging aspect that features an intersection of two energies at an impasse.
Saturn transits last about two and a half years, and Saturn entered Aquarius in March of 2020. (Yes, that date connects with the timing of pandemic lock down for many of us.) Saturn traditionally rules both Capricorn and Aquarius, and in modern astrology, Uranus rules Aquarius, so this strengthens the Aquarian theme for 2021 all the way around. Aquarius is the sign of the collective, of community, of humanitarianism, innovation, and the future. Wherever Saturn is transiting, we experience a slow down and contraction. Saturn is the planet of karma, limits, and boundaries, so during Saturn's transit of a sign we can experience karmic endings and restructuring in our lives. When Saturn in Aquarius challenges Uranus in Taurus for an entire year, we can expect pressure from competing energies that ultimately creates something entirely new. Saturn represents tradition, rules, authority, the big systems already in place, the past, limits, and boundaries. Uranus represents innovation, liberation, breaking loose from the status quo, the future, change, disruption, upheaval, and revelation. Aquarius is about the future, and hopes and dreams, but it is also about both the collective well-being and each person's right to individuality. Taurus is about how we feel secure and enjoy our day to day lives through the five senses. We have seen disruption to our sense of security and how we enjoy daily life with Uranus in Taurus in recent years, and Saturn into Aquarius and the pandemic only amplified that trend. It is clear that everything is different now and we are being asked to find new ways of experiencing Taurean energy in our lives - new ways of feeling materially secure, new ways of socializing, new ways of shopping, even new ways of buying groceries and enjoying meals. But Saturn in Aquarius squaring up to Uranus in Taurus all year has plainly said, "not so fast." We needed to build a better foundation first. We needed to slow down and not cut corners. All year, we've been working something out between the past and future, tradition and innovation, and restriction and liberation. We've been working on a new foundation for the future we are stepping into, and new rules to go with it. Working with this week's build to the Saturn-Uranus climax December 24th. 1. Keep healthy boundaries and take and give plenty of space this week and weekend. This is the number one thing, because we are talking about Uranus (space) versus Saturn (boundaries). We may be feeling like we don't want to be "alone," but at the same time aren't feeling very social/tolerant of others. This is Saturn in square. Saturn can bring up isolation as well as fear of being alone. Uranus on the other hand wants to do its own thing and wants nothing to do with tradition or status quo. The answer is healthy boundaries and plenty of space. 2. Along those same lines, make sure you take the space you need when you need it. If we don't get ourselves the space, personal time, and rest we need, we may find ourselves in a situation where spirit does it for us, by blowing something up or inviting in an illness to force us to slow down and take it easy. 3. With Saturn in square to loner Uranus, this isn't a time to expect a lot of warm, fuzzy connection. It is a perfect time for sinking into and relishing alone time and solitude and doing your own thing with flare. 4. Practice acceptance and allowance, and showing up and holding space for yourself and others. Try not to force or demand. Stay flexible. Tune into what is wanting to happen and what isn't and try to be in the flow. Remember that everyone is feeling this urge to break free and the restriction of not being able to have what they want in some way. Try showing up with grace and compassion, and the knowledge that this is shifting after Christmas weekend and 2022 will be much more supportive and expansive. 5. Think in terms of new rules and new traditions instead of trying to force things into an old mold or doggedly do things "the way we've always done them." This is the Art of Consciously Creating Life. Happy Holidays!
It's going to be a big energy week, with Christmas Eve and Christmas Day feeling especially intense. Here's why. We kick this week off with Venus freshly retrograde in Capricorn as of Sun. 12/19, but that isn't the whole story, by far. The image below is a quick guide to each day, but read on for the big list of the energies at play this week leading to this weekend's climax. Number 1: It's a Waning Gibbous Moon All Week Long. We just had a full moon in Gemini on Saturday, 12/18, and this week we are in the waning gibbous lunar phase (up until the last quarter moon on Sunday the 26th). The waning gibbous is a time of integrating what has been illuminated at the full moon (which was a north node full moon, so one that points us in the direction of our destiny). Also, as full moons are associated with a time of fulfillment, culmination, completion, and/or harvest, this week is a time for appreciating what we have and being in gratitude, we may even feel more generous and want to share our bounty with others during waning gibbous moons, and that is a perfect way to honor this moon phase and align with it. Number 2: Venus Retrograde in Capricorn. Venus just stationed retrograde in Capricorn and this week is moving back into her 2nd conjunction with Pluto, this time in RX. The first one was Dec. 11th. Dec. 11th was the intro, or "spark" of the fire, and the conjunction coming up on 12/25 Christmas Day is a review. The intensity is high nevertheless. Venus retrograde is a review of self-worth and how we show up in relationships. With Pluto sitting with her to kick things off, power dynamics will be a theme. In Capricorn, this is helping us to review how to make our relationships more stable and enduring. It's the start of something built-to-last. Number 3: Solstice and the Beginning of Capricorn Season, 12.21. Solstice is Tuesday, 12/21. Technically this means the beginning of Capricorn season, as solstice is when sun reaches zero degrees Capricorn. But more than that, it is the beginning of our solar year in the northern hemisphere, one of the four points on the wheel of the year. It's like a new moon, only with the sun. It is the shortest day of the year, and longest night, and the point at which the light begins to grow again. This is a perfect time to offer to the transformative flames of the fire a written list of what you are ready to release, a letter to the past year, or even actual items that represent what no longer serve that you are letting go of in preparation for this new cycle Number 4: The Void Moon on Tuesday, 12/21. Note also that Tuesday, 12/21, from 7:43 a.m. until 2:53 a.m. (MST), the moon is void-of-course. Void moons are times for sticking to routine and wrapping up and catching up. They are times to avoid big decisions and purchases (especially with Venus now retrograde) or starting new projects/enterprises. Save that for another day (preferably after the new moon, and even after Venus stations direct in late January. Here's a hint: 2022 doesn't really get going until the January 31st new moon in Aquarius. Until then, we are reviewing, wrapping up and transitioning. (Click the link above to read more about making the most of void moons. Number 5: Capricorn Season is On & Strong, & That Makes Saturn Stronger Too. Solstice puts the sun in Saturn-ruled Capricorn along with Venus, Pluto, and Mercury. The sun is our conscious focus, so that means the Capricorn vibes are now even more amped, and Saturn, ruler of Capricorn, in its other sign of Aquarius is especially strong. Think: building foundations and structures that endure. Thing quality, not quantity. This is practical energy that is achievement-focused. This is a great time to envision your goals for next year and plan out practical actions steps towards them for the coming days, weeks, and months. Saturn rules Capricorn and all of these planets gracing its sign strengthen it right now, but Saturn is already strong in its other home turf of Aquarius, and it is challenging Uranus in Taurus all week long, climaxing on Christmas Eve. This is the time to honor Saturn and do the practical thing, even though we may have a very strong urge to bust loose and break free of it all. Number 6: About Saturn & the Final Saturn-Uranus Square 12/24. The third and final square of 2021 between Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus is building all week to a climax on 12/24, Christmas Eve. (Yes that's just one day before the 2nd conjunction between Venus and Pluto in Saturn-ruled Capricorn is exact.) This is a theme that's been strong all year, especially around February 17th and June 14th. This one is the big finale, and should also be bringing resolution to this impasse we've been at all year between past and future, tradition and innovation, security and freedom, and finding a way to move forward and feel free to live our lives and enjoy them that isn't reckless or careless in light of the current state of the world, pandemic and all. This means we are going to be feeling that tension between wanting to bust loose and feeling held back all week and it is climaxing 12/24. Pushing and forcing isn't a good idea now. Proceed with caution, flow with the energy that's present now. It will shift after Christmas. Number 7: the Last Quarter Moon Choice Point, Sunday, 12/26. Finally on Sunday, 12/26, we arrive at the last quarter square moon, the halfway point between the full moon and new moon, and our choice point. We reach an internal conflict and impasse, and to resume forward motion, we must let go of something (particularly some form of old consciousness) that is no longer serving us in light of where it is we are going. After we are through this bump, we can use next week's waning crescent moon until the Capricorn new moon to get to the business of releasing in preparation for the new moon regeneration.

Astrology | Wisdom | Empowerment It was only my third day in this completely foreign land.
I was still jet-lagged. My body had not integrated being so quickly fourteen hours ahead of what it was used to yet. I had traveled over 24 hours to get here, and was dealing not only with the shock that literally flying through time and space into the future had dealt to my body, but also the shock of immersion into a completely different time zone, culture, language, and climate. But there, sitting on the earth, in an ancient, sacred space, I allowed time to stand still. I felt my bones and my flesh pressing down against Gaia, and I felt her pressing back up, supporting my presence. Embracing it even. And in that stillness, I felt in between the spaces of the molecules of matter and time into a deep timelessness. .................................................................................................................................................................................. What does the Devil tarot card have to do with the next two weeks? Everything.
The Devil represents habits and patterns that keep us stuck and trapped in life. See how the person is actually free to move away at any time? But they don't - their own beliefs are what is actually keeping them trapped, not the Devil. The Devil simply takes advantage of this. To free ourselves, we must change our beliefs, our thoughts, our emotions, our behaviors. We must believe differently, speak differently, and feel differently, and act differently to BE differently and experience life differently. It starts within.
Saturn when challenging can feel like restriction and limits because it is teaching us its lessons in a way that creates conflict and resistance to get us to grow into a new relationship with this energy. In the end, Saturn will show us the way to "freedom through discipline." Saturn is the Roman god of the harvest - it also shows us how to get a happy harvest in this 3D material world. Saturn rules Capricorn, the sign of "achievement oriented earth." It's all about the business of getting things done in the "real" world, the material world. It's about rules of time and limits, death, limits of the biological body. Saturn rules our bones, skin, and teeth - the structure and boundary of the body. It also rules structures and boundaries in the world and in our lives. Saturn shows us that these structures and boundaries and the rules of life can be supportive and protective to us or can feel like a prison - the choice lies in whether we are in our inner authority or not. When we are in our inner authority, we use these to our advantage and harness their power in our lives - when we are not, it feels like something outside of us always coming down on us and like we are being controlled, like the person in the tarot card shown above. For the next two weeks, Saturn's square to Uranus is applying, until it is exact for the third and final time this year on December 24th, Christmas Eve. Saturn here is in challenging aspect, and to Uranus, the planet of revelation, liberation, big change, and breakthroughs. This is THE overarching energetic influence of 2021, with the first of these planetary standoffs occurring on February 17th, and the second on June 14th. These two at odds can have us feeling restriction we are really over, and as this is the finale of this series of growth aspects for this year, it is likely to be at a tipping point. Here's the thing.... The truth of the situation right now is that we are at the end of difficult times. (Read more about this here.)
This means that we need to trust life and keep the faith now more than ever. Vibe high, and focus on what you are for, because after Christmas, we will be in entirely new energetic territory. The laws of the energetic universe say like attracts like. If we don't wish to recreate the past, or even our present, we have to look ahead, vibe higher, and focus on what we are for. We have to set our vibration to match what we want in the coming weeks, months, and years, and hold it there no matter what, rather than letting whatever swirls around us dictate our energy and pull us down out of our upward spiral. We have to take Saturn's cue now and step into our inner authority and say "no" to what we are done with - and that means energetically not repeating the same thoughts, doubts, worries, and reactions - and keep our focus only on being in alignment with that of which we want more. Saturn can serve as both our jailer and liberator - it is our choice which side of this energy we stand upon. Now is the time to employ the concept of "freedom through discipline" to serve us and allow it to liberate us from any limiting ideas, beliefs, thoughts, habits, and/or patterns that would keep us stuck in the old and unable to step fully into the new when it begins to open to us in just a few weeks. ~Kasey This is the Art of Consciously Creating Life! Not feeling it? I'm here to help.
If you are feeling tossed around and at the mercy of the waves of life rather than masterfully riding them (and having fun doing it), isn't it time to do something about it? Work with me. You have the right to a life you absolutely love, and I'm here to help you get there. At the end of the day, energy is all there is. Astrology is energy, your emotions are energy, your thoughts are energy, and you get exactly what you give. The problems is, we can get pretty tangled up in this life and end up stuck in a cycle of creating what we don't want. Ready to turn things around? I'm ready to show you how and support you every step of the way. We'll do it together - six weeks, six one-on-one sessions, and 45 days of guidance and support focused on what you most want to shift in your life. "Shift It" is a short, intense and compact package of coaching sessions, but long enough to create shift that will blossom into lasting change. Did you know it only takes 21 days of consistency to create a new habit? That means a new habit of belief, a new thinking habit, a new energetic habit - that means with the right focus and actions, over only 21 days, you can make a small change that has a big impact in your life. And in "Shift It", we will have over twice that length of time working together! (I'm not just all astrology - I have a background in hypnotherapy, including how to identify and shift limiting beliefs, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). I understand the subconscious mind and also bring in guided meditation, energy work, and even some shamanism, not to mention my personal experience working with trauma and C-PTSD - understanding what's going on with and how to work with our biological system can be an important part of creating a lasting shift in our lives too.) If you want things to be different, you have to do things differently, and there is no time like the present. The life you want is waiting for you to step up and claim it. Imagine more satisfaction, more clarity, more confidence, the feeling of standing in your inner authority and sovereignty.... How much would this be worth to you? How much is it costing you right now to not make a change? This is all possible for you and maybe in less time and with more ease than you think. If you are ready to do things differently and get different results, work with me. As Emerson said, make a decision, and the Universe conspires. Simply the decision, the commitment, is a huge part of getting the momentum going in a different direction. Shift It Learn more here, or email me for more information. I'm here for you. Let's do this - together. What's that feeling coming up now, that's been growing over the past days? What’s that feeling of a deep gnawing in the belly, of some vague sense of dissatisfaction, accompanied by a gravitational pull towards something, somewhere, unknown? That feeling is Venus' first conjunction to Pluto, at 25 degrees Capricorn (the no-nonsense Saturn-ruled earth sign), exact today, December 11th. (Part two of this will be on December 25th, at 26 degrees Capricorn, after Venus has stationed retrograde.)
Where Venus is transiting in current astrology in our charts will tell us where blessings will come from during that period, and the energetic prism through which our love expression and values will flow. When Venus retrogrades, as it is about to from December 19th to January 29th, we have an opportunity to journey to meet our shadow, and ultimately be reborn to a new consciousness. It's a self-worth journey to be sure, one that can help us reclaim the thrones of our hearts with more compassion and wisdom, and rule our realms from a place of more authentic inner authority, wiser, more integrated and whole. Pluto is the Roman version of the Greek Hades, ruler of the underworld. Pluto is about stripping and exposing, and the process of death and rebirth, transformation, and regeneration. In traditional astrology, Mars is the ruler of both Aries and Scorpio, but in modern astrology, after Pluto’s discovery, it was assigned to Scorpio, the sign associated with the phoenix–the one who burns and then regenerates from its own ashes. This controversial heavenly body is small but mighty and has a strong association with power in our lives. Pluto is closely tied to our subconscious, especially the insecurities and fears that drive us from beneath the surface. Strong Pluto can bring up a combo of deep desires within us as well as insecurities. These together with a "must have at any cost" mentality can set the stage for situations where we suddenly find our shadow is running the show. Power plays, manipulation, and coerciveness can begin to dominate our experiences under these conditions. This is why, when Pluto is at play, it is always a good idea to stay as aware as possible of the motives driving our behavior and the behavior of those with whom we are interacting. Strong Pluto can have everyone so focused on achieving their own agenda that we lose the bigger perspective. Situations can quickly turn into lose-lose propositions. Staying aware of when to disengage and just walk away is key. It can be tricky to harness the power of this energy and stay on top of it. Imagine you’ve been in the wilderness for weeks without enough food and you are cooking a delicious, big meal, in a cast iron skillet over an open fire. You have been waiting so long and have been hungry for days on end. You can smell the food cooking and it is almost ready. Suddenly, you notice that the handle of the cast iron skillet has heated up from the pan being over the open flames, and it is becoming too hot to hold. If you let go of the skillet, you lose your meal, the only food you have, but if you keep holding on, you lose your hand. This is how intense Pluto energy can feel in our lives. It can feel like our survival is in the balance, and like no matter what we choose, we will be losing. That’s why when working with this energy, the power of being able to disengage and let go is so important. When this type of energy is up, clinging and refusing to let go is one of the worst things we can do. Pluto is also the type of gnawing desire and hunger that draws us out a little farther and a little farther, until there is no return, and we find ourselves in the shadowlands and with no choice but to go into the fire of the phoenix and come out the other side reborn from our own ashes. This is why we want to pay special attention now to any inner discomfort right now, our behavior, and our motives driving it. Not only is Pluto conjunct Venus, for the first out of two times, but Venus is stationing retrograde December 19th, so this conjunction is our portal to the underworld to which Venus is about to journey. It is our “set up” for what we will be reviewing during Venus’ retrograde. The desire now or even desire to alleviate discomfort, is what is going to spark that trip. Venus conjunct Pluto isn't “bad,” but it is intense, and it is opening us up to Venus' impending retrograde journey. Desire runs deep now and will be absolutely transformational for us (especially if you have anything around 25 degrees any of the cardinal signs - Capricorn, Cancer, Libra, Aries). Also, because it is a conjunction, it is a beginning. Venus conjunct Pluto can be felt almost all of this month (December 2021), but this is actually two separate conjunctions, the first exact 12/11 with Venus direct, and the second exact 12/25, with Venus retrograde. That makes for a very long Venus-Pluto conjunction - an almost unheard of entire month of these two planets being within very close proximity of each other. That only intensifies the gravity of this new beginning. Because Venus is stationing retrograde during this conjunction, there is a likelihood of something (or someone) coming into our lives now with this first conjunction that then seems to back off or dissipate as Venus goes retrograde and backs away from Pluto. Not to worry; Venus comes back into conjunction for a third and final time on March 3rd and with this, whatever we have sparked this month is back to stay. Consider this our introduction to the situation, and Venus retrograde 12/19 to 1/29 our opportunity to do the inner work necessary to get ourselves truly ready to step into the new that's coming and run with it. All's well that ends well, and Venus stations direct on January 29th in a much friendlier atmosphere, with the north node of destiny and increase in her own sign of Taurus (that means Venus is our “guiding light” for the next 18 months), and in trine to freshly-direct Uranus, planet of revelation, insight, and lasting change. Venus conjunct Mars in Capricorn from mid-February through mid-March is going to be helping solidify this new beginning in our lives as well. Something solid is being born and this Venus-Pluto conjunction is only the very beginning! ~Kasey This is the Art of Consciously Creating Life!

Shift It Learn more here, or email me for more information. From December 11th through December 25th, we are in the heart of this holiday month, and in the heart of this month’s biggest energy. This is when the astrology of December really gets going, and it combines the big finale of 2021 with a regenerative rebirth in preparation for the good things coming as we get into 2022. Over the next two weeks, we can expect to navigate intensity as well as challenges, but by Christmas we will be on the downhill side of all of this, and headed towards some very different, and much more supportive, energetic dynamics. In this post, I am going to give you a rundown of what to expect over the coming weeks through Christmas (as well as a few hints around what lies beyond) and a quick guide to successfully navigating it all.
The two main energies at play from now through Christmas are the Venus-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, and Capricorn ruler, Saturn, coming into its third and final square of 2021 to Uranus in Taurus. About Venus-Pluto and Venus Retrograde…. Venus conjunct Pluto will be two exact conjunctions, the first on December 11th at 25 degrees Capricorn, and the second with Venus retrograde on December 25th, at 26 degrees Capricorn. (Venus will be retrograde from December 19th to January 29th.) This is energy we will all feel, but if you have anything in your natal chart placed around 25 or 26 degrees any cardinal sign (Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, or Libra), you will feel this more personally.
This especially goes for right now, as Venus comes into her first of two conjunctions with Pluto (something we are really feeling all month long) just before she stations retrograde on December 19th. When Venus goes retrograde, we dive deep into our shadowlands and get the opportunity to take a look at anything we are carrying that might block us from aligning with our desires and attracting and receiving them in our lives. This means, at the heart of it all, we are getting a chance to rework our sense of self-worth. Venus conjunct Pluto right now, before Venus stations retrograde, is our set-up for this review and rebirth. It is our introduction to what we are desiring and making us acutely aware that we don’t have it. This contrast between wanting and not having and feeling it intensely, fueled by Pluto’s deep hunger, along with the feeling of wanting to break free but being restricted that is coming with the Saturn-Uranus square exact on December 24th, may have the next two weeks feeling intense and a bit bumpy. Venus stationing retrograde in the mix can have us feeling like we almost had something we wanted but then suddenly it went the other way. Pluto brings an intense desire to succeed, and in Capricorn it comes with the need to accomplish and achieve something lasting and solid. Venus in Capricorn is bringing that no-nonsense vibe as well. Venus’ second exact conjunction with Pluto, once retrograde, on December 25th, is going to shed more light on this for us, maybe even bringing back that intense desire and hunger more strongly, fueling our motivation to really dive deep and do the Venus retrograde work over the coming weeks. The good news is, on January 29th, Venus stations direct in trine to Uranus, freshly direct as of January 18th, in Taurus. Uranus is the planet of out-of-the-blue insight, revelation, the future, innovation, and big change. With Uranus direct and Venus stationing direct in supportive earth to earth aspect, this means our retrograde efforts will most likely be successful, and whatever was born when Venus first met up with Pluto back in December will be now moving forward with a stable foundation and structure, infused with Capricorn’s solid and secure, built-to-last energy. The things is, when Venus stations direct on January 29th at 11 degrees Capricorn in league with Uranus direct at 11 degrees Taurus, we are tying together both December’s Venus-Pluto conjunctions and Venus stationing retrograde in Capricorn AND the three Saturn-Uranus squares of 2021 - especially the final one of December 24th that was also at 11 degrees Aquarius/Taurus, respectively. About the Saturn-Uranus Square… The Saturn-Uranus squares this year have occurred between Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus - both fixed signs. If you have anything around 11 degrees of any fixed signs in your chart (Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, or Scorpio), you will have felt this final fixed square between these two heavy-hitters personally. Christmas Eve’s square is the third and final in a series of three. The first one was February 17th, and the second was June 14th. When we have a series of three squares like this (and this one because of the way it was spread out of 2021 really defined the energetic dynamic of the entire year), the first one is our introduction to the issue, the second one is the review, and the third one is the resolution. Squares are aspects that feature an energetic impasse between planets in two signs making a ninety degree angle to each other, and fixed signs are known for being stubborn and unyielding. The fact that this series of squares involved Saturn (and the second one in June, Saturn in retrograde) made them feel all the more restrictive. Saturn, especially when in square and retrograde, slows things down, or even stops them, and can feel immensely oppressive, bringing melancholy, hopelessness, depression, and even illness. While Saturn is the planet of authority, limits, boundaries, restriction, caution, tradition, and rules, Uranus is the planet of the future, innovation, and breaking free. These two at a stand-off all year could have had things feeling quite impossible, especially over the summer. Now that we’ve had a little break, they are back, but this will be over by Christmas, so keep going. After this final Saturn square, we are done with the outer planet and Saturn challenges that we’ve been dealing with for years now. Done! Remember this third and final aspect is about resolution, so we will be feeling the rub between Uranus’ urge to break through and break free and Saturn’s brakes and restriction acutely over this holiday season. We are still in a Saturn square with Saturn very strong in Aquarius, and Venus-Pluto in Saturn-ruled Capricorn, so count Saturn as the strongest influence now. That means honor Saturn first and foremost. Play by the rules. Show up. Be responsible. Keep it in between the lines. Focus on Uranus’ genius around innovation moving forward, and know the time for that is coming, but it is coming after we get past Christmas. Rebelling under this influence won’t go well, with Saturn so strong and in challenging aspect. The First of the Good News…Jupiter into Pisces…. Just a few days after this final Saturn-Uranus square is exact, on December 28th, Jupiter finally leaves Aquarius (where it is second to the more powerfully positioned Saturn) and moves back into Pisces, the sign it ruled traditionally before Neptune (also strong now in its own sign of Pisces) was discovered. Whatever expansiveness and good things were on the horizon back from mid-May through the end of June are back now for good and we will be moving toward Jupiter’s conjunction with Neptune in Pisces in mid-April - an inspirational new beginning that only happens once every thirteen years. In Closing…. Good things are coming, it’s written in the stars for 2022. For the next two weeks, keep those eyes on the prize - 2021 isn’t over yet - it is still preparing us for the good things to come in 2022. Everything is unfolding perfectly, in its own perfect time. When we look to the stars and the astrology, we can read the energetic currents and understand how to flow with them and let them carry us, and how to harness their power. Right now, we are beginning a rebirth with Venus-Pluto that will take us into 2022, while at the same time moving into our final growth phase of 2021, working out resolution of the issue posed by the Saturn-Uranus square that first came up in February, and finding a new way forward, balancing tradition and innovation, old and new, past and future, security and freedom. ~Kasey This is the Art of Consciously Creating Life.
