![]() Next weekend on Sunday, May 15th, the first eclipse portal of 2022, and the first one in a series on the Taurus/Scorpio axis, closes. Keep reading to find out all about this eclipse and how it relates to the 4/30 new moon eclipse, where it's landing in your life, and how you can access its magic.
This week's waxing gibbous moon keeps the urge to move towards fruition of our goals strong, and Jupiter joining Venus in Aries both lights and fire and brings opportunities in that area of our lives, but on Tuesday, Mercury stations retrograde, meaning we are going to be reworking, reviewing, and refining those new ideas and ways of thinking and expression that have come in in recent weeks. This doesn't mean the insight we have recently opened to is wrong - it means we are going to dive a little deeper and take our time with it rather than running off half-cocked. It means that what is forming in us now is important, and deserves more attention so we can bring it through into reality in its very best version. This perspective is a good one to hang onto as we move through Sunday's full moon eclipse. This upcoming full moon eclipse at 25 degrees Scorpio is a south node eclipse, meaning it is about the past and whatever is decreasing thus releasing. It's a full moon in Scorpio, which always brings intensity. Being an eclipse we can count that double. Scorpio's modern ruler is Pluto, freshly retrograde in Saturn-ruled Capricorn, and its traditional ruler is Mars, which will be working behind the scenes sitting with Neptune in Pisces. Both of Scorpio's rulers will be in aspect to this full moon eclipse, along with Saturn taking center stage in fixed sign square to this big event from Aquarius. Saturn in square to this full moon eclipse means it might come with some sort of "no" in our lives that stings. Saturn is about authority, rules, responsibility, maturity, and discipline. Saturn in square ultimately is asking us to grow to make whatever it is in question stronger and more stable, but when it comes up, it feels harsh, restrictive, and oppressive and can have us feeling isolated, lonely, depressed, hopeless, negative, and pessimistic. If we consider sun as ego and moon as emotions, we can see how a square from Saturn to both at the same time might feel unpleasant. It's a strong event, and being on an eclipse, with lasting influence, but it IS passing, and it IS giving us what we need to grow and evolve into the next steps and next stage of the journey we are on. Keep in mind that this will feel very personal to you if you have anything from around 23 to 28 degrees any of the fixed signs. Otherwise it is a more general influence, or at least not so limiting and harsh-feeling. Another thing to keep in mind is that both the "blessing-bringers," Venus and Jupiter, are now in Aries, so look to the house Aries rules in your chart to find what area of life the blessings are coming through over the next weeks. The key with this full moon is to realize it is bringing growth and showing us what needs to be released to move forward. The new moon eclipse on April 30th in Taurus was a north node eclipse. It put us in touch with our desires and what we are yearning for in our lives especially in the way of how we enjoy life the everyday pleasures in life and feel resourced and stable. It also was surrounded by a series of aspects that were "light-bringers," bringing the sorts of consciousness upgrades that take a bit to integrate. Mercury stationing retrograde, Pluto already retrograde, and then Saturn in square to this full moon are checking us, saying "not so fast," you're not quite ready yet. If we can show up for this Scorpio full moon eclipse square Saturn willing to acknowledge our shadows and take responsibility, we are going to have a much easier time moving through it. ![]() Get ready for Mercurial Magic! Mercury stations retrograde at 4 degrees Gemini, Tuesday, May 10th, beginning our second of three Mercury retrogrades in 2022 moving from an air sign back into an earth sign. It stations direct at 26 degrees Taurus on June 3rd. That means the overarching theme of our Mercury retrogrades this year is taking ideas and making them real - "earthing" them. The messenger, magician, and trickster is trickiest when stationing, so watch out Monday & Tuesday for miscommunications, missed communications, tech and travel mishaps, and even vehicle/appliance issues. Think twice before speaking or pressing send, and make sure you're sending the right message to the right contact!
Mercury rules the mind, thoughts, and communication. During RX, it doesn't actually go backwards, it makes a loop. Think about it like we are going back to get information or some message we missed or overlooked on the first pass through - there's a review as Mercury backtracks over the recent degrees of the zodiac it just covered, but it's always moving forward rather than technically backward. We kick this retrograde off with Mercury stationing in square to the moon, so emotions influencing thoughts as we move towards a Scorpio full moon eclipse will feel extra intense. When Mercury stations direct 6/3, it will do so in happy aspect to the moon, bringing intuitive thinking, but in square to Saturn, bringing possible restrictions to our ideas and plans to move forward, maybe bringing misunderstandings or limits to "being heard." This is a growth aspect with Saturn the teacher showing us what we need to move forward in a more solid and well thought out fashion. Major Points of Mercury RX 5/10 - 6/3 5/21: What project or special focus wants to start now for the 2 months? 5/19: Optimism. Where can you expand now? What opportunities are incoming? 5/23: Tap into the passion & drive to make it happen! 5/25: Step into your power; uncover issues, find solutions; Eliminate & regenerate! Special Note for 5/22 to 5/27 Mercury will be moving backwards over the final degree of Taurus from 5/22 to 5/25 - Mercury is mind, thinking, communication, but also everyday money. Taurus is the Venus-ruled earth sign of self-worth & resources (finances). The 25th - 27th, we have Venus, ruler of Taurus, in square to Pluto RX. Watch out for issues around misunderstandings in love & money, and/or bad news or some sort of crisis in these that even affects self-worth. What is Rule Your Realm? Click here to find out! This week we are in the waxing gibbous moon, building to Sunday's powerful south node full moon eclipse in Scorpio, pulling in Saturn, Neptune, Mars, and ruler Pluto. That means intensity is building all week. With it being an eclipse portal week, moving to culmination, it's more important than ever to stay focused on what you are for. By that I mean connecting to the energetic vibration of that beautiful "Future You" that has achieved the desires you are working on now, finding that vibe in the now, and literally generating it, in the face of whatever "what is" comes up. Be the master of your destiny now. The multiverse is listening and the language it speaks is energy. Your fear, your joy, your emotions - they create your vibration. And you will get exactly whatever vibe you hold most strongly and consistently. Change is in the air. Step into your creative power, authority, and leadership by choosing your vibration. Show this full moon eclipse who's boss!
What we can happen in your life once you understand how to work with your creative energy and stand in your power in those six sessions is an absolute game-changer! Check it out here.) This week overall won't feel as fast-paced and electric as last week because we are out of the sun-Mars-Uranus aspects AND Mercury is stationing retrograde, but it may feel equally intense in other ways as we move to the big climax of the coming full moon eclipse.
The April 16th full moon in Libra was square Pluto, and this one is taking the Pluto/Scorpio themes and running with them. Every full moon I do a 5 card tarot reading for successfully navigating from full moon to full moon. (I choose the full moon because it's the point of most light on the subconscious and visibility.) The first card in that reading from 4/16 to 5/15 was Death, telling us that our main objective for the month was to face those things that keep us trapped - habits, limiting beliefs, addictions. The reading also warned that although we were going to have some wins, we weren't quite through the challenges yet, so to stay vigilant and not take that victory lap just yet. Check out the one minute tarot video for the month ending 5/15 here. With next weekend's big Scorpio full moon on deck being challenged by Saturn and with Pluto and Mars in play, we can bet we are going to be facing those shadows - and it's a chance for truly releasing what no longer serves and regenerating ourselves anew if we are willing to go there. Waxing gibbous moons (from the last quarter moon to the full moon) are always times of being driven to reach our goals and push to fruition. Expect that to be even stronger since this is a Pluto-fueled full moon eclipse that we are moving toward. Monday and Saturday both feature void moons for the majority of each day - if you can schedule down time, these are excellent days for it. These are great for catching up on to-do's, self-care, and rest. Making time to catch up for yourself scores the biggest these days. Early Tuesday morning, Mercury stations retrograde until 6/3 - heads up Monday and Tuesday around schedules, communications, technology, travel/commutes, and appliances - things get glitchy when the trickster and messenger is stationing. (If you've got anything at 4 degrees Gemini or in the mutable signs, I'm especially talking to you!) Then, same day in the evening (always MDT), Tuesday 5/10, Jupiter enters Aries, bringing a big vibe shift from water to fire, from the last sign of the zodiac to the first. Jupiter joining Venus in Mars-ruled Aries will (that means gifts and blessings, respectively) will have us feeling extra fired up now. What house does Aries rule for you? That's where this dynamic duo is coming through in your life. *Note that Jupiter is already in its retrograde shadow - it will turn retrograde end of July at 8 degrees until Thanksgiving. Tuesday and Wednesday, the waxing moon transits Virgo, and Thursday/Friday, it's in Libra, meaning what feels good will be organization, routine, health, cleanliness, and being of service, and cooperation, partnership, harmony, and beauty, respectively. |
