Chiron stationing direct in Aries on 12/23, the same day as the Capricorn new moon is significant - especially because it is going to be playing a significant role in 2023, popping up in aspect to many of the new and full moons over the coming months. This makes now a really good time to go over what this means and how we can consciously harness this energy in our lives, because it's going to be coming up in significant ways consistently in 2023. First of all, Chiron has been in Aries since 2018 and will remain there until 2027, so this is a long game we are playing, but it's important now because it aspecting so many lunations in the coming months is going to be highlighting it.
Chiron is known as "the wounded healer," both the wound and the healing of it. Chiron transiting Aries, sign of the self, of self-assertion, of standing up and being counted, is then for the collective a time of working on healing this wound to self we have as a whole - the wound that might cause us to play small, to not speak up, to shrink back, to not feel we have the right to self-assert or self-express or even exist. Chiron is both the wound and the healing. Aries is the sign of Mars, the warrior. Maybe it is anger towards us, intimidation, threats, or hostility that wounded us so, but it is the suppressed anger we still carry that keeps us from healing. Maybe we've carried it so long and feel so completely that we do not have a right to feel this anger or express it that it has congealed into a heavy depression that hangs over our lives and sucks our souls of vitality and life force. The astrology involving Chiron now is signaling that it is now time to see our wounds as our greatest strengths and transcend any wounds of self that might be surfacing now so we can stand in the truth of who we are and allow ourselves - our whole selves - to be seen fully. In fact, this is being asked of us in just a couple of weeks as Chiron squares the January 6th Cancer full moon, bringing tension as we are asked to summon our strength and courage to transcend our wounds, stand up, stand tall, and take a bold step forward. Keep in mind that this is only the first of many times Chiron will be a key player in our lunations over the coming months - this is a transformational process we are supported in moving through now. Even on January 6th, Chiron, although challenging the full moon, is being supported by helpful aspects from Mars in Gemini, while Mars is getting support from Venus, which is getting support from Jupiter. Jupiter-Venus means high vibes and blessings, Mars-Venus amps the charisma and creativity, and Mars-Chiron means we have the potential to heal those old wounds to self - especially ones that have thwarted our independence, sense of self, ability to individualize, or even created doubt around our right to exist at all. Everything is happening in divine right timing, everything is unfolding perfectly, and understanding where to consciously focus is pure alchemical MAGIC.

Ready to work some elemental magic? Then keep reading, because I have a little secret to share for you on successful navigating the energies on now through March. Here's the set up.... As you may already be aware, Capricorn season begins at solstice, this Wednesday the 21st, when sun enters the sign, joining Mercury preparing to station retrograde there as well as Venus and Pluto. This marks a major turning point of the year, and this time around its carries extra weight, because Pluto, having been in Capricorn since 2008, is preparing to move into Aquarius for the first time in late March. Now, this transition will be happening into 2024 as Pluto moves back and forth over the Cap/Aqua cusp, but in the next couple of months, we will have our last Cap season and solstice with Pluto in the sign, our last Mercury retrograde with Pluto in the sign, and the last conjunctions between Venus, sun, and Mercury to Pluto in Capricorn as well. Consider it the "big finale," and Mercury retrograde from 12/29 to 1/18 is helping us to mentally process the past decade of Pluto in Cap as it backtracks over the degrees Pluto was at from 2012 up into 2022. So that's a lot of action in Capricorn. Adding to that, on 12/18, the dwarf planet Ceres, "the mother" moves into Libra, and on 12/20, Jupiter reenters Aries, creating a T-square between the activity in these 3 cardinal signs of earth, air, and fire, that will be on now into March. A T-square is a very dynamic aspect made up of 3 planets sitting at 90 degree angles to each other, so it's like two squares combined. It means we will be under pressure to grow. Here's the alchemical key to this situation: The sign and energy of Cancer, cardinal water. Cancer completes the "square" here between the four cardinal signs and represents the missing element/energy, so to balance this dynamic from now into March, we need to consciously infuse our lives with the energy of Cancer - the energy of water, the moon, and the mother, intuition, emotions, caring, belonging, nurturing, connection, tribe, family, and even tuning into where we come from in a deeper way and seeking ancestral support. Keep reading below for more..... Ceres will be retrograde in Libra, sign of balance and compromise from 2/3/23 to 3/22/23. Capricorn is Saturn ruled and can bring up feelings of fear and lack. Pluto at the final degrees there wants us to let go of the old/what's not serving so we can be fully transformed, phoenix style. Jupiter in Aries can have us overdoing it on the self-centeredness/selfishness. As Ceres turns into lesson and review mode, what might come up initially to set the stage for our learning and growth could be feeling lack and scarcity and an inability to get needs for resources/support met, and in turn our reaction of being more self-centered and less willing to give and share - contraction. The key to successfully navigating this is to lean into the foundation and structure of Capricorn, the compromise and balance of Libra, the expansive nature and optimism of Jupiter, and to add in liberally the caring, compassion, connection, and empathy of Cancer, and give that to ourselves first and let it spill over into our interactions with others. Be a generator of this Cancer energy in your life and the lives of others to balance this energetic dynamic that will be up for all of us collectively, remember that you are a powerful creatrix, and the universe is abundant, and as within so without - all you have to do is tend to your inner realm and do your own belief, thought, and energy work to be the change you wish to see in the world. As of December 21st, and until Jan. 20th, Capricorn season is ON, and it's going to be a memorable one. Did you know that Capricorn is the only zodiac sign that is a mythical creature - the "sea goat" (the head of a goat with the tail of a fish) - and that the highest expression of this Saturn-ruled earth sign is the UNICORN? Saturn was the Roman god of the harvest, and this time of year was a huge festival called Saturnalia, when even slaves and masters traded roles.
Going back further, Capricorn and the magical sea goat for ancient Sumerians were associated with god of wisdom, Enki. The sign wasn't just about earth, or Saturn-ruled earth as we think of it today, associated with the climbing-ever-higher, sure-footed mountain goat, hard mountainous terrain, and plants that grow in challenging conditions or create borders and boundaries. It was an earth sign associated with "sweet water," as the Sumerian civilization was one of the first ones to establish irrigation for their crops and cities on a grand scale and flourish in Mesopotamia because of it. And this in turn of course influences Saturn, ruler of Capricorn, being a harvest god to the Romans. In modern society, we may see Saturn and Capricorn more about taking care of the practical and mundane tasks that must get done, as well as societal compliance stuff like paying taxes. But if we trace it back to earlier times, we get a deeper understanding of this signs energy, and the magic it holds. This is about wisdom, and it's about the magic of adding the water element to earth - what happens when we use the earth and rock to create a solid container - a foundational structure with proper boundaries - to hold what we value most - our "food and water of life." This Capricorn season promises to be a memorable one because this is our last Capricorn season for over 200 years with Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto has been there since 2008, doing its work of stripping and exposing in order to tear down the old and create the new, specifically in the Capricorn areas of the collective - infrastructure and financial systems and government. In your life, this has happened on a personal level since 2008 in whatever house, or area of life, Capricorn rules in your natal chart. For example if it rules your 7th house, it's been about relationships, or if it rules your 10th house, it's been about public image and career. This month, we have our final of all of the following for over 200 years: Capricorn season, Mercury retrograde in Capricorn (mentally processing especially the last 10 years of Pluto in Capricorn as Mercury, the mind, rewinds over the degrees Pluto covered those years), Venus conjunct Pluto in Capricorn, sun conjunct Pluto in Capricorn, and finally, Mercury conjunct Pluto in Capricorn. Because on March 23rd, Pluto will shift out of Capricorn and into Aquarius, marking a huge energetic shift for the collective and in our personal lives. To make this shift feel even bigger, we also have Saturn into Pisces on May 18th (it's been in Aquarius for 2 1/2 years, since March 2020, right about the time the pandemic lockdown first began, and will now be in Pisces for 2 1/2 years), and right after Pluto moves on the 23rd, we have Mars, the planet of action and initiation, moving out of Gemini where it has been since August 20th, for 4x longer than its normal transit length of a sign because of its retrograde there, and into Cancer. By the end of January, Mercury, Mars, and Uranus will all have stationed direct, giving us ALL planets in forward motion, and then we will have February and March for integration before these big shifts land in our lives. Now is the time to rest and review and open to the wisdom this Capricorn season is bringing! BY WHAT MAGIC DOES THE ACORN BECOME THE MIGHTY OAK? By Capricorn magic! Remember that the seed when planted looks like nothing - barely noticeable - compared to what it has the potential to become when planted in the right soil, with the right water and light, protected, nurtured, and supported. But those who know what they are looking at know the seed's potential, and know it is worth committing to and showing up for, and putting their time and effort into, even though it may not look like much now - or even for a few years. So what seeds are you gathering and planting now at this solstice new moon in Capricorn? What do you most value? What is most important? What are you committed to growing in your life? Don't worry if you are having a hard time seeing how your tiny seed could turn into the towering, strong oak of which you are dreaming. Right now, it is enough to believe in its potential, plant it, commit to nurturing it, and make a plan for how you might do that. Much more insight and information will be coming soon. Right now, all you have to do is take that first tiny step. Know that there is more clarity, insight, and important information coming, and your job now is to simply align with your intentions from your foundation of values in full integrity, plant those seeds of intention, and then pay attention over the coming weeks and be willing to accept new insight and perspective, release the old blocks holding you back, and open to embracing the new, because the BIG changes are coming in March, and now is our time to align, then prepare. I've covered all of it in detail in today's new moon out to subscribers, and more is coming with my full moon update on Jan. 6th. Not on the email list?
