In the wee hours of Monday, November 27th (in North America at least) we reach the energetic climax of the Gemini full moon. On it's own, this full moon is the culmination of whatever began six months ago at the Gemini new moon back on June 18th. That happened just as Saturn was stationing retrograde in fellow mutable sign Pisces, meaning it was at a square to the June lunation in Gemini by whole sign, just as this Gemini full moon is again in square to Saturn. And we have Mars in the mix yet again this time too. This sets the stage for a "Saturn smackdown" from when the Gemini sun first squared Saturn back on November 23rd all the way through when the full moon is exact on Monday, as sun, Mars, then moon all square up to Saturn on their way to the full moon event. This likely has felt quite challenging, especially on the heels of the sun and Mars in alignment with Pluto last Sunday through Tuesday, which had us fired up with the desire to succeed, only to run headlong into this crunch. But it's the kind of pressure that creates big growth, however uncomfortable it is to move through, and big growth is what we need to prepare for the next phase. You see, Saturn just stationed direct after being retrograde since June 17th, and it's still sitting on that same 0° mark of Pisces it stationed direct on on November 4th - until the 28th, the day after this full moon, when it FINALLY moves forward onto the first degree of Pisces. Now we get to move forward, and the big news now is the square Mars is now moving into with Lilith, applying all of this week and exacting it on December 3rd. This is the big follow up to our recent rodeo with Saturn that led us into this full moon, and there's more growth coming. Think: transcending what's been holding you back to expand into even more love and abundance. And I mean specifically things like deep-seated feelings of inadequacy. Anytime Lilith is involved we are dealing with shadow stuff, but it's about reclaiming our freedom and our original "wild" state, before anyone tried to domesticate us - that natural authentic state that is so beautiful and captivating. Do you remember that you? This is about reclaiming that innate sense of belonging - not necessarily to a person or a group of people, but to the earth itself, as a creature of this earth whose belonging and place can never be questioned. And this is what lets you reclaim your power, and your authenticity, and your inner throne. And it's what allows you to step into the kind of knowing of your inherent value as a human being that suddenly has you claiming your space and setting boundaries with ease, naturally. This is a necessary step on our journey now. It's a beautiful thing. With the December 5th last quarter moon, we are going to turn a big corner. The last quarter moon is the halfway point between the full moon illumination and new moon regeneration and the time when we choose what to release - what we don't want to carry with us through the new moon portal. With the 12/12 new moon being in Sagittarius (plus a couple of other magical energetic alignments I'll be going over in the 12/5 live in the Facebook group), you'll want to focus on releasing anything that stands between you and faith, belief, optimism, and expanding into more love and abundance. Mercury retrograde is going to be jumping in to help - it just happens to station direct on January first in Sagittarius just 2° away from where this new moon is on the 12th, and Mercury IS the Magician. This is setting you up for 2024. Ready?

As we turn the corner with the first quarter moon today towards the Gemini full moon exact 11/27, we're headed towards a "Saturn Smackdown" that goes from the 23rd right through the 27th lasting the entire weekend. This is quite the speed bump, and there are 4 non-negotiables to successfully navigating this astro. There are 4 non-negotiables you need to be aware of moving through this weekend. This is "Saturn smackdown" territory, and especially coming off of the sun and Mars alignments with Pluto Sunday and today getting us fired up with desire for reaching our goals and achieving success, it's not going to feel good. Rest assured, this is a speed bump - a planetary traffic jam, really - it's just a little slow down over this weekend as Sagittarius season kicks off and we roll through the Gemini full moon - and it is a test of character. So it's incredibly important to stay calm and keep showing up through this weekend, even if it feels like someone just yanked on the emergency brake as you throttled down the highway. Composure and patience equal points in the bank now. Be the energy you wish to cultivate no matter what anyone else is doing - set the energetic example - it begins and ends with you. This is all caused by sun, moon, and Mars coming into square aspect with Saturn just as they move into Monday's full moon formation. As with any challenge from Saturn, it's likely to feel hard. The sun square Saturn is an ego blow and possibly challenges with authority. The moon square Saturn has us feeling rejected and depressed. Mars square Saturn brings up the frustration and even anger. Proceed with caution. You've done so well. This is only a test. It's just passing through. Don't crystallize it with your reactions. PS - after December 5th, things open up, and you're in for an inspiring Sagittarius season and magical solstice and Capricorn season, so don't let these few days throw you! The 4 Non-Negotiables for Wed. 11/22 through Mon. 11/27 This is growth astrology - it's a trick bit of business over the Thanksgiving holiday, but it's here as a little checkpoint before we get into the really good stuff that's on its way even now. Here's what you're going to do:
At the time of this full moon, we have Mars on 11/25, then the moon on 11/26 at odds with Saturn. This creates an ego blow and also feeling emotionally isolated. Mercury square Neptune creates distortion of mental perceptions and confused thinking and misunderstandings (exact with the full moon on 11/27) while Mars immediately begins applying a square to Lilith, bringing up feelings of inadequacy, powerlessness, and unwantedness - for us to triumph over once and for all. Like I said, this is growth astrology. The pressure results in growth, and that growth is necessary for what comes next. And you WILL be triumphant.
Venus is going direct in Leo Sunday, 9/3 (18:20 PDT | 21:20 EDT), and it's a big deal. We've began this journey in early June, when Venus first entered Leo. ![]() Early June through mid-July was like our initiation, or introduction to the work we would be doing while Venus was retrograde July 22nd to September 3rd. (Note that June was also the beginning of another larger cycle layered over this - Saturn retrograde in Pisces - June 17th to November 4th - a mentorship in what it takes to truly bring our dreams into reality, and possibly a reality-check in the process if we were off-course.) This wasn't just Venus retrograde (a review and realignment around relationships, resources, what we truly love and a "rebirth to self-worth"), in Leo (sign of the heart and authentic creative self-expression), because over the course of this retrograde, Venus was getting help by several outside influencers, making a series of three aspects to Uranus, Chiron, Neptune, Jupiter, and Black Moon Lilith. There are a total of three aspects to each because of the nature of the retrograde. First, Venus tracks over the retrograde degrees in direct motion, making the first of the three aspects to each - this is the pre-shadow, the initiation and introduction, in this case to each issue represented by each aspect. Second, after Venus stations retrograde, it begins making the second pass over the retrograde degrees in reverse motion, thus bringing each issue represented by each aspect up for review and deeper consideration, and bringing us to "the heart of the matter." Lastly, once Venus stations direct, there's one more pass left to be made over the retrograde territory, this time in direct motion, and this is the resolution, when Venus will make each of the aspects to each of the planets for a third and final time, bringing resolution in one way or another to each of the issues. As Venus stations direct, we are entering the third and final phase of the retrograde, on until October 7th. This is a time of gaining clarity around what you truly love & where you’ve been - up until now - just making do, settling, or fooling yourself. It is now time to take your power back & start living from a more authentic, heart-centered place, whatever that means for you.
While you may have experienced attention-getting issues around love and money during this retrograde, the heart of this journey is about helping you reclaim your inherent sense of self-value and creative power, and realign your values so that you are living from a more authentic and heart-centered place. With a sense of pride even - this retrograde occurred in Leo, after all. Venus' station direct over the evening of 9/3 and morning of 9/4, depending on where you are in the world, brings relief & maybe a hint of what's to come, but as I've been saying, you won't really feel the results in your life until after 9/14 into October. That's because with Venus direct, "Our Lady of Love & Money" (& attraction, creativity, art, & aesthetics) is just now beginning her 3rd and final pass over the degrees of the retrograde, and this involves making the 3rd and final potent aspects to the main influencers of this retrograde - Uranus, Chiron, Neptune, and Lilith. (Lilith was also a big deal, but while Venus made the first two conjunctions to Lilith in Leo in June and July - helping us understand the unconscious and untamed shadow within and come to terms with any shame keeping us playing small - the third conjunction will actually happen after Venus clears the post retrograde shadow with both in Virgo, so it's really part of the new, not what we've been working on since June.) Here's a breakdown of what to expect and when:
What to Watch Now.... So that's the journey we've been on since early June with Venus in Leo and Venus retrograde. With Venus direct on September 3rd/4th, we are reaching an important turning point, and things are going to be unfolding all the way through October 7th when Venus clears the retrograde territory once and for all. The main action here will be between September 23rd and October 7th, as Venus makes the third and final aspects to Uranus, Chiron, Neptune, and Lilith. Here's the deal, and what you need to be paying attention to now as we move forward: Venus leaves the post-shadow of this retrograde JUST 1 WEEK BEFORE THE LIBRA SOUTH NODE NEW MOON ECLIPSE on 10/14, and you better believe these things are tied together and a big deal. The 10/14 Libra eclipse is our first eclipse with north node in Aries and south node in Libra, on from mid-July til January 2025, and as south node represents past, karma, and what we need to release, if there's any relationship junk that needs to be cleared, this eclipse is going to make you very aware of it. If you want to get out ahead of this, think about what's been coming up here and there since mid-July around relationship dynamics and especially unhealthy ones that have you sacrificing or abandoning yourself for others all the time - codependent tendencies, enmeshment, attachment issues, enabling, not keeping healthy boundaries, passive-aggressiveness (not being able to be direct about your needs and desires and the resulting fall-out), misdirected anger, low self-value, insecurity, people-pleasing, etc. The north node in Aries is pulling us towards a healthy sense of self and the self-assertiveness that goes with it - the south node in Libra means we are going to be required to let go of everything keeping us from that, and the 10/14 new moon eclipse is going to be bringing it up.
About Mercury Retrograde in Virgo August 27th to September 14th, 2023 Mercury is known as "the messenger," as it is associated with the mind, thinking, expression, and communications, but Mercury is also "the magician," and the alchemist. Mercury goes retrograde about 3 times per year - the most of any planet - but the good news is its effects are always fleeting. That's because Mercury is, well, Mercurial, and when we are working with the energy of Mercury, we can use this to our advantage. The idea is to stay flexible and curious - when Mercury is active in our lives, it's never a time to make any concrete decisions - if we try to do this, it's no surprise when it doesn't work! Mercury just stationed retrograde in its own sign of Virgo on 8/23, and it will turn direct 9/14. Mercury rules two signs - Gemini, mutable air, and Virgo, mutable earth. Since Mercury stationed retrograde, you may have noticed your inner critic kicking up as your forward momentum seemed to spin out and maybe plans and communications went awry. It isn't helping that just days later on 8/27 the Virgo sun opposed Saturn retrograde in Pisces, on 8/28 (the day I'm writing this) Uranus is stationing retrograde quite likely causing restlessness and unexpected disruption (maybe even more tech issues?), and we have a full super moon on deck for Wednesday the 30th in Pisces, with the sun-Saturn opposition still lingering. Things might feel a little squirrelly right now. Or okay, a lot squirrelly, and Saturn getting activated at a super moon climax in lesson-bringing reality-check mode doesn't help. But, there's a way to work this in your favor. Remember, Mercury might be the trickster, but its also the magician and the alchemist, so once you understand the energetic dynamics at play, you are empowered to step into the role of creatrix in your life and start weaving the elements and energetic currents in your favor. Keep in mind we are in the deep end of "retrograde season" now for 2023 with 6 planets retrograde - Venus, Mercury, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. It's like summer school, made up of individual planetary mentorships offering their expertise in different areas of your life. This is time to slow down, double check, review, make edits. Pay attention where things are blowing up and going sideways and where you are running into walls and check back in with your body, with your intuition, with your inner guidance and alignment. These delays might just be working in your favor. Also keep in mind that Mercury retrograde is brief - only 3 weeks, and we come out of Venus retrograde 9/3 and then out of Mercury retrograde 9/14. Like I've been saying in the new and full moon emails and on social media, tangible results from all the inner work we've been doing since June will be showing up late September into October, so hold that line!
Mercury goes retrograde about three times per year, and its retrogrades always happen in a series of three - for example, all of the 2022 Mercury retrogrades began in air signs and ended in earth signs, then starting December 2022 into January 2023, we began a series of three Mercury retrogrades in earth signs, and in 2024 we will have a series of three Mercury retrogrades that begin in earth signs and end in fire signs. While all Mercury retrogrades slow us down so we can review and edit thinking and communication, there's a something bigger at play happening here than just delays, breakdowns, lost phones, missed messages, and miscommunications. When we take the high view, we can see that over 2022 we were working on learning how to bring ideas into reality (air to earth), and over 2023 we are working on the real world practicalities of doing that (all earth), and over 2024, we will be using what we've learned with our earth retrogrades as a container that will hold new creative ideas so we don't burn ourselves out (earth to fire). Working With Mercury Retrograde in Virgo 2023 This is our third and final all earth Mercury retrograde in a series of three. We began in December 2022 with the Capricorn Mercury retrograde that carried us into January. Then in April 21st to May 14th, we had a potent Mercury retrograde in Taurus overlapping with the spring eclipse portal. We wrap up this series of all earth Mercury retrogrades in Virgo (during Virgo season, of course, because Mercury is never more than 28° away from the sun). Like I mentioned above, in 2022 the Mercury retrogrades all began in air and ended in earth - lessons in making ideas reality. In 2023, the focus has been completely on Mercury making its periodic reviews in earth signs, and in 2024 Mercury will continue the process beginning each retrograde in earth but ending in fire. The takeaway is that right now we need to let Mercury retrograde in Virgo help us zoom in on the everyday rituals and routines that hold us. Virgo is the sixth sign, an earth sign known for organization, sorting, refining, perfecting, and strongly associated with health, and especially things like diet and exercise that support good health and prevent disease. Virgo is a sign of devotion and acts of service too. When we get out of balance with Virgo energy, we can find ourselves feeling anxious and never good enough, and then highly critical - of both ourselves and others. (As within, so without - as I teach my clients, we cannot give or do to anyone else that we aren't already giving or doing to ourselves - its the same for love and criticism - its like a filter or energetic prism we are living through created by our beliefs.) Here are some ideas for accessing the magic of this Mercury retrograde in your life:
This is The Art of Consciously Creating Life. This year's fall eclipse season will opening us up to the brand new north node in Aries cycle which began on July 18th and will go through January 2025, while simultaneously closing out the north node in Taurus cycle, which we've been in since January 2022. This is powerful, because the nodes represent what we are collectively growing to, and what we must release in order to do so. Before we get there though, we have three important lunations - the August 30th full moon in Pisces conjunct Saturn retrograde, the September 14th new moon in Virgo trine Uranus, and then the September full moon in Aries featuring ruler Mars conjunct the south node in Libra and at the same time square Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. Now that's powerful stuff. If you aren't already part of the tribe and receiving the new and full moon email updates, click here to join us so you can get the details on each of these as we move through them. About the Fall 2023 Eclipse Portal As the October 14th new moon eclipse in Libra is our opener to the new north node in Aries, south node in Libra cycle, it promises to be an eye-opener. With the nodes on the Aries-Libra axis of self and other, respectively, this eclipse season will be bringing relationships to the forefront, and in a particular way. The north node is the point of increase and appetite, destiny and future - it is what we are being pulled towards. The south node, its opposite point, is in contrast, the point of decrease, release, past, and karma. In short, the north node is what we are moving towards, and the south node is what we are moving away from, but the way this happens is that our pull towards expressing the north node sign traits requires us to release the south node sign shadow. In this case, the north node in Aries has us collectively feeling pulled towards more individuality, autonomy, and personal authority. This is about self-assertion and charting our own course. But to do that, the south node in Libra says we are probably going to have to face down our shadows having to do with Libra themes. Libra is the Venus-ruled sign of relationships, and it wants harmony, equality, balance, beauty, peace, justice, and cooperation. But in its value of the relationship and efforts to "not rock the boat," sometimes Libra can lose itself. This is when we end up in situations like codependency. Passive-aggressiveness and resentment can show up when we for whatever reason we don't feel we can state our needs or desires in a straightforward way, or we don't feel like there's room for us to even have needs or desires because "the relationship" is always taking priority and we are in "pleaser mode" to avoid any upset that might lead to loss of relationship or perceived rejection or abandonment. In order to move towards the strong sense of self represented by Aries, we have to let go of that Libra shadow. Ultimately, the Aries-Libra axis is about healthy relationships, and those don't happen without both parties first having a healthy sense of self. There's nothing "selfish" about it. When we come together as two strong, healthy, "wholes," we get a relationship which is a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. And that's a truly beautiful thing. Here's What's Up Between Now & Then The 8/30 Pisces full moon, the 9/14 Virgo new moon, & the 9/29 Aries full moon. So what's happening between now and then? A lot! As I write this on August 20th, we are still in the "deep end" of the Venus retrograde journey in Leo, a "rebirth to self-worth," with Mercury retrograde in Virgo on deck for 8/23 to 9/14. Our new beginning in Leo is just getting underway - the Leo new moon was just a few days ago on August 16th - but we need to be prepping now for the upcoming Pisces full moon. That's because the August 30th Pisces full moon is conjunct Saturn retrograde, and while it very well may be bringing us a hint of a harvest in regards to what we began cultivating at the Pisces new moon six months ago in February, the sun opposite Saturn still retrograde also has the potential to be a reality check, or even an uncomfortable ego hit or pinch. Don't worry - there IS a way to work in alignment with this energy over the two weeks of waxing moon to make sure we are on the right side of this and even harnessing the energy in our favor. The Virgo new moon, September 14th, will be in supportive aspect to Uranus in Taurus, helping us fully step into the new. I've been saying all summer since Venus landed in Leo in June that we would see tangible results from the inner work by late September/October. That's because Venus retrograde featured several "three hit wonder" aspects - Venus conjunct Lilith, Venus square Uranus, and Venus trine Chiron. When this happens, the first aspect is the initiation to the issue, the second is the review when we revisit the issue and gain new insight and perspective, and the third and final one, when the planet has returned to direct motion, is the resolution. The resolution in this case is coming in late September into October, and there's more factors than just Venus direct at play! This new moon is a time to be proactive about making positive changes in our lives. On September 29th, the Aries full moon will be bringing to realization/fruition whatever began in late March/April when we had two Aries new moons in a row, one being an eclipse. These were powerful new moons that bookended the sign, with the first one at 0° and the second at 29°, the anaretic, or karmic degree of the sign, and an eclipse. This one will also feature the full moon ruler, Mars, (ruler of Aries) conjunct the south node of karma, past, and release in opposing sign Libra, and squaring Pluto retrograde in Capricorn, really setting the stage for that new moon eclipse in Libra on October 14th. This is a year of major transition for all of us. A major undercurrent of 2023 is Pluto taking all year to shift out of Capricorn where it has been since 2008, and into Aquarius, where it will remain (after it reenters the sign escorted by the sun in late January) until 2044. Pluto is doing this in T-square to the nodes of future and past, increase and decrease, and destiny and fate for most of this year. Pluto is the planet of death and rebirth transformation. When we see it in such a potent aspect to the nodes for such a long period of time, we can know that we are going to be asked to fully release the past in order to step into the future. This is a "let go or be dragged" situation. We need to fully shed the old skin or it might get very uncomfortable. There might be some growing pains along the way. But, if we are consciously working with these energies (and that's where astrology can help us), then it's more like we are being carried by the current from one point to the next. Each step prepares us for the next. It's a process of evolution and growth. Join us on the journey. Click the button below to get the new and full moon email updates. Starting in late August and going til mid-November, we have something that astrologers call a "kite" forming and dissipating in the heavens several times over several months. A kite is an astrological pattern comprised of 4 planets. It looks like a kite, like two triangles put together, with the bottom one elongated, forming a "tail," or like a bow being drawn (see image below). The three planets forming the top of the kite or the bow and tip of the arrow are all in 60° angles to each other, known as sextiles. Since astrological signs each span 30° this means you'll find these three planets at the same degree (relatively) of three signs, with one sign in between each - so every other sign. In this case, we're talking about the three outer planets, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, being in the final 10° of Taurus, Pisces, and Capricorn, respectively. (So Aries and Aquarius are the "in-between" signs.) What happens is, as each of the personal planets, Mars, Mercury, and Venus, and the sun each transit Virgo this summer/fall, they will each move into opposition with Neptune in Pisces, activating this kite in the heavens. Kites bring dynamic energy that we access by working the tail point planet of the kite - in this case we will go through a series of them as the planets pass through Virgo. Outer planets have to do with generational influences and collective consciousness. We are in a major transition period that began this year and goes until May 2025. This is because over that time period all three of the outer planets will change signs, ushering us into a new era by 2025. This little kite formation we'll be working through with different planets in Virgo is going to be helping us evolve collectively. Don't let this overwhelm you. The key to success with this is focusing on working the high side of Virgo energy in your life from late August through mid-November. We get our first taste of this with the Leo new moon, as Mars trines Uranus August 15th through 18th before opposing Neptune the 21st through 24th, then making a game-changer of a power move with Pluto August 23rd through 26th. While each planet opposing Neptune activates this larger kite energy, we also want to be conscious of the fact that any time any planet is in opposition to Neptune things get foggy and unclear, and we need to be mindful of energetic boundaries, as well as getting the "wool pulled over our eyes." As we work the high side of Virgo, we'll also want to remember to work the high side of Neptune/Pisces on the other side of the axis. Balancing this tension is what allows us to tap into the support of Uranus and Pluto in sextile and trine aspects, respectively and harness the power of the kite in our lives. ![]() MarThe Virgo vibes started heating up as soon as Mars landed there in July, as Mars is the action planet, initiator, and instigator. But the kite formation doesn't get going until Mars gets in range of the outer planets, August 21st to 24th. Then this energetic dynamic kicks up again with the sun 9/15 to 9/20, with Mercury 8/14 to 9/2 (stations retrograde 8/24 and direct 9/16) and again 9/27 to 10/4, and finally with Venus in 10/25 to 11/8. The tension point of the kite - the arrow drawing back, will be formed as the planets transiting Virgo late August to mid-November one by one form the release point of this energetic dynamic. Like I said before, to work the kite, we must work the Virgo-Pisces opposition. The outer planets (Uranus and Pluto supporting Neptune) are forming the point of the arrow - the direction of the aim and of forward motion. This is about a spiritual awakening and the connectedness of all life. It's about higher consciousness and the evolutionary leap humanity is collectively undergoing. Pisces is a water sign and a very spiritual sign full of empathy and compassion, and along with modern ruler Neptune, not only rules water as in "we are all one like drops of water in the ocean," but also literal water, water as a resource, and oil too. Think about this energetic dynamic at play in league with Uranus in Taurus - innovating how we feel secure and our relationship to resources and environment (like the earth itself) - and Pluto in Capricorn - collapsing what is rotten in big systems globally like government and banking - we start to get a better picture of the monumental change that is happening on a global level right now. The Virgo planets as they move through, the sun, light of consciousness, and each personal planet, Mercury, Venus, and Mars (not in that order), form the tail of the kite, and one-by-one will be the role you play as an individual in this raising of collective consciousness and spiritual awakening. This is where we "do the work," and zoom in on embodying the higher qualities of Virgo by itself and as part of the Virgo-Pisces axis. The Virgo-Pisces axis balances the mundane and the spiritual - both signs are about healing. "Working Virgo," in our personal lives to contribute to the evolution of humanity to higher consciousness might look like focusing in on the sacred in the mundane, acts of practical service, and themes like the body as a temple, cleanliness in relationship to godliness, and honoring the sacred in the mundane. Our spiritual healing contributes to our physical healing and vice-versa - not just as individuals, but as communities and societies. There is a cumulative effect - as more individuals heal their own lives, it helps to evolve the collective consciousness. 2023 is a year of major transition as Pluto, the planet of death and rebirth transformation takes the bulk of the year to complete its shift into Aquarius, and at the same time challenges the astrological points of future and past, destiny and karma. This requires us to fully release any grip on the past in order to freely move towards our destiny now - the increase is fueled by the release. Mars initiates the planetary march through this "hot seat" in the heavens as it opposes Neptune August 21st through 24th. This is when we are going to shift our focus to consciously working the high side of Virgo energy and balancing the Virgo-Pisces axis of healing in our lives, each playing our own unique role contributing to the larger evolutionary leap of humanity. Virgo is a sign of organization, tending to details, acts of service, devotion, cleanliness, refining, caution, modesty, routine, health, and diligence. Keep it simple and practical. Less is more. Hard work pays off, and setting up systems and routines around daily life and health that are preventative and streamline will be invaluable "practical magic" as we move through these months. This is preparing us for something bigger. We reach one milestone end of January when Pluto returns to Aquarius for good (until 2044), escorted by the sun, but the "new era" being brought on by all three outer planets shifting signs won't be landed until May 2025. Let go. It's time to cleanse, clear, and be done with it. Now. For real. What do you need to push past once and for all? What's that feeling, that discomfort, that unconscious thing that creeps up from the depths that keeps you jumping back into old habits and patterns every time you get close to breaking free into the new, the unfamiliar that's both unknown AND desired? I call it "the ickies." It's that feeling of discomfort that sends you running right back to what you were committed to moving away from. It can feel like a wobble, like loneliness, like emptiness, like anxiety or fear, like uncertainty or overwhelm, and it can be so intense it feels like you can't stand being in your skin. It feels REAL, and URGENT. And, if you aren't working with this very unconscious patterning consciously, it can send you right back to what you were wanting to break free from, perpetuating this feeling of being stuck and going in circles in your life, unable to break free. So...deep breath now. Stay the course. This is a transition, and all you have to do is keep working that edge - keep working the transition. It's easier to do this when you realize that what are feeling is normal, it's okay, and it's just something you are moving through. (And there are tools to help you get through it! This is on strong now, Friday, 8/4, through Monday 8/7, but you can consider it a major theme of this entire year - as I've been saying, 2023 is a transition year. Let it go. Let it be. Unstick yourself and allow FLOW!!! New things want to come in, but they can't if you are too busy clinging and blocking flow. "Grippy-ness" and clinging are going to get increasingly uncomfortable, so take note now and be proactive. The Energetic Dynamics at Play (The Astrology):
Not only is this the peak of Pluto in square to the nodes, bringing us to a major crossroads, an intersection of past and future requiring us to let go to move forward, Tuesday is the 8-8 Lion's Gate portal - an auspicious time for making major moves towards our goals and manifesting our desires. Miracles can happen when we are really willing to fully let go and let the current carry us and stop the resisting. It takes courage, so have heart. It's all around you, it's all hovering, waiting for your energy to open in alignment so it can come into your reality - but you have to make the dimension shift, the energetic shift - you have to step forward into the new, into the unknown, into the unfamiliar. You have to be wiling to let go of the old. And that means not just that person or job or thing - it means the energetic pattern, that deep subconscious programming, that thing that you run on autopilot that is running your life - until now. Here's what you are going to do:
The six little words that changed my life.... I want to be like that. As Emerson put it, "Make a decision and the Universe conspires to make it happen." It was one of THOSE moments.... I knew something big had happened, but I didn't know what. It was one of those moments when it feels like there's no time or space, just the present, just that one moment, and you know something has shifted, but there's nothing to do but go on with your day, with your life, and let it unfold. So that's what I did. "Make a decision, and the Universe conspires to make it happen. -Ralph Waldo Emerson ![]() It was a June afternoon in my kitchen. I was alone in my house. I had just put away groceries and was leaning on the dining room table scrolling on social media. I happened upon an article and read it. The article described a woman whose lover had just come to her and confessed cheating, overcome with guilt over it, and in the story the woman calmly responded, "I see you are in pain, how can I help." And that's when it hit me. Hard. I felt like I was being pulled around by my hair in my marriage and I didn't like it. It felt like I was always off balance. Like everything was always so big. Like I was quite literally being emotionally "dragged around by my hair." And I wanted what that woman had in the story. Bad. I wanted that calm, centered poise, that objectivity, that "okay-ness" in herself that allowed her to be present for others in her life no matter what was going on - that THRONE. That peace! I wanted it with my whole body, my whole being. In that moment, I was so moved by all of this that I suddenly heard myself announce to an empty house, "I want to be like that," like the voice didn't even come from me. It felt like time stood still. It felt like I was the only person in the Universe in that moment. The words seemed to reverberate across time and space - or like time and space had collapsed into that one present moment and the words were all there were. I knew something big had happened, but it didn't know what it all meant. There was nothing to do but continue with my day and with my life. There was no big epiphany or immediate change, but something had been set in motion - I knew it in my bones. Deeper Implications I didn't realize it at the time - I was still living in so much denial - but that feeling I had about being "dragged around by my hair," and constantly off balance - well, that was because I was in an abusive marriage. In fact, I was sustaining every kind of (covert) abuse expect direct physical violence - the mental, emotional, and even sexual abuse was there, just not overtly. It was more like a constant just-beneath-the-surface erosion of my value and power. At that point, I couldn't admit that to myself. I know now it was because I couldn't come to terms with what that would mean about me, so it wasn't even an option I would allow in to consider. That June day was the day that there was just enough of a crack of an opening in my resistance for my higher self to jump in and rescue me, set me on a different path. That story, and that feeling I felt when I read it, and me speaking those 6 little words - that was the beginning of an entirely new me and an entirely new life, because, "to be like that," everything was going to have to change - there was a long distance between where I was then and "being like that." And change it did - over the course of the next ten or so years, all right on time with Pluto transiting my 7th house of marriage and opposing my first house Venus. A once in a lifetime death and rebirth transit that not even everyone experiences in a lifetime, as Pluto takes 280 years to move all the way around the zodiac, or a natal chart. Living the Myth: A Real Life, Modern Day Heroine's Journey Those six little words on that June afternoon set me on an epic journey - the stuff of myth. Every bit of it truly paralleled the great Sumerian myth of Inanna's Descent (the myth that goes along with Venus retrograde - on this summer July 22nd to September 3rd, 2023).
It's an inside job. No one can do it for you, and you cannot fake it. You have to believe you are worthy down to your core, without a shadow of a doubt, and you have to live that every single day. I've lived the journey. I know it's possible. I know how important it is. It wasn't just the non-existent self-worth, I also had C-PTSD. I spent several years in freeze response after exhausting both fight and flight. It's about your energy, but many times our fears, limiting beliefs, and traumas are what are screaming the loudest and sending out the biggest vibration, even if we aren't conscious of them. I'm not just a coach, or just an astrologer, or just a survivor/thriver, I'm also professionally trained in hypnotherapy. I know about how the subconscious mind and beliefs work, and how to work with them to get positive results. Are you ready to start the journey to reclaiming your throne? Make a decision and the Universe conspires.... ~Kasey Get ready for things to heat up just one day after the July 17th Cancer new moon as the north node changes signs, landing in Aries for the next eighteen months.
If you have a cardinal sign rising (Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn), then this vibe shift will be affecting the very foundation of your life - your identity, home/family, relationship, or career/public image - and how that interacts with the other three. Our Clues to the Direction of Spiritual Evolution The north node represents the direction of spiritual growth. It's what we want to consciously move towards for our soul's evolution. The north node represents increase, appetite, the future, and destiny. The south node, exactly opposite the north node and always moving in sync with it, is what we want to consciously release for our soul's evolution. It's what is familiar and what we have already mastered in past lifetimes, so it can be the "comfort zone hideout" that gets us in trouble when we are too complacent in life. It's what we know, and there's no growth for us here. The south node represents decrease and release, the past, and karma (or lessons). In your natal chart, the north node and south node placements are a big part of your life map - what you are moving towards and away from on a soul level in this lifetime. The north node and south node in transit in the current moment is speaking to what we are being pulled toward and asked to release collectively right now, and this shifts zodiacal axes every eighteen months, moving backwards around the zodiac. North Node in Aries - South Node in Libra Transit for Individuals North node in Aries and the south node in Libra from mid-July 2023 until mid-January 2025 means we are going to have an appetite and desire to embody Aries energy and as we move towards that, we will simultaneously be called to release the Libran shadow as part of the process, learning the lessons of balancing the Aries-Libra axis along the way. We'll want to self-assert and individualize. We might feel more impatient and competitive, with the emphasis being more on "me" and "mine." We may be more headstrong or even hot-headed too. This could be a time when we want to strike out on our own - what area of life this is landing in for you depends on what area of life Aries rules in your chart. For example, if you are Cancer rising, Aries would be your 10th house of career, so this might have to do with blazing a trail in your career and going into business for yourself, but if you're Sagittarius rising, Aries would rule your 5th house of children, the inner child, romance, and creative self-expression. Remember that Chiron is still in Aries, helping us heal that wound to self that might have us doubting our right to exist. Maybe, up until now, this has kept us playing small to stay safe. And maybe, as we learn to take up space and be seen and heard, it's a little like learning to drive a stick shift and we're "all over the place," under-doing it, then over-doing it, trying to refine our ability to shift gears smoothly, and what I mean by that quite literally is refining our ability to balance the Aries-Libra axis of self and other so we don't lose ourselves in relationships or become door mats but also don't run over others and become completely and toxically selfish. A healthy sense of self is the foundation for a healthy relationship - one in which the total value equals more than the sum of its parts. That's the lesson of the Aries-Libra axis. North node in Aries means we are going to have a year and a half to get right with that relationship to self. With the south node in Libra, we'll want to be consciously aware of the shadow of Libra energy - the codependency, the passive-aggressiveness, the feeling that we must sacrifice ourselves for the relationship, that there isn't room for our needs or feelings to be expressed and heard and important. That is not the definition of harmony or cooperation. Libra wants equality, fairness, and healthy relationships. That begins with a healthy sense of self and individualism - everything the healthy expression of Aries energy wants. It's not the either-or; it's the AND - there's room for both, for everyone's truth. There must be. As within, so without. When we become more allowing with ourselves, we become more allowing, period, and that means we become more allowing with others. There's more permission all the way around, because we also have developed our ability to allow, acknowledge, and communicate our own wants and needs more effectively and tactfully, and in the process developed better boundaries. And better boundaries means we're safe to allow both ourselves and others to have our own stories and our own truths and beliefs, and suddenly there's more harmony, more cooperation, more...relationship. That means more of the Aries courage, strength, leadership, and healthy individualism can emerge, and we'll feel the need to spend less time in the warrior sign's combativeness, protectiveness, and defensiveness. That means more energy for inspiration and creativity. North Node in Aries - South Node in Libra Transit for the Collective The north node lands in Aries after eighteen months (since January 19th, 2022) in Taurus. The north node represents appetite, desire, increase - what we are being pulled toward, and the south node, respectively, represents what we must release in the process of that evolution we're being pulled along the path to. The two work together. For the past eighteen months, we've been moving through north node in Taurus, south node in Scorpio. We've collectively had an appetite for all things Taurus - the Venus-ruled earth sign of indulging the five senses and earthly abundance. Taurus wants security through material things, to enjoy life through the five senses, to be well-resourced and well-appointed. And why wouldn't we all be craving that after a few years of pandemic? But our appetite for the embodiment of the Taurean north node in our lives comes hand in hand with us collectively needing to face and release that Scorpio shadow - the counterpoint on the other end of the Taurus-Scorpio zodiacal axis. If Taurus is security through material possessions and resources, Scorpio, the deep-diving water sign of the shadowlands, teaches us the lesson that true power and security will never be found through the tangible, it can only found within, and the more we release, the more we will actually receive. And one of the things we need to release is the need for control. Scorpio is about the natural cycle of destruction and creation, the cycle of elimination and regeneration, the transference of energy from one form to another. In short, holding on to rotting food isn't going to get you the luxe abundance you were imagining - and I mean that as a metaphor for many, many things in life. It's important to know when to let go, and how to let go. Scorpio teaches about transitions and regeneration. We're finishing that cycle up now. How are you feeling with your progress in learning to balance the Taurus-Scorpio axis over the past year and a half? With the north node now moving into Aries, and the south node into Libra, the soul growth focus is now shifting for us collectively to being about relationships - specifically the relationship of self and other. The north node will be pulling us towards embodiment of Aries energy - we're going to want to assert ourselves and individualize and go out and conquer on our own and feel strong and capable. But the south node will simultaneously be reminding us that we cannot forget about the other end of the axis - other. We need relationships. We need others. We need cooperation. We want it too! Healthy relationships only come from a healthy sense of self. When we learn to be the healthy embodiment of Aries energy - self-reliant, confident, interdependent (as opposed to independent or codependent), self-assertive (not aggressive), and authentic - a funny thing happens - all of our relationships start to become more healthy too. This is about self-value, self-expression, the ability to have a healthy sense of self and to communicate healthy boundaries with others, and also the capacity to show up as leader (not a dictator). Remember the stick shift analogy - this is a learning process for us as a collective over the next year and a half. There's likely to be some sputtering, accidental kills, and gear grinding along the way. Imagine everyone (on varying levels) suddenly having the urge to be more self-assertive but not necessarily being good at it, or conscious of this energetic dynamic at play for the collective (like you are now). Beyond what comes up in our personal lives, the north node transiting Aries is associated with an upsurge in things like military operations, and even higher global temperatures, fires, and seismic activity. Aries as the first sign of the zodiac is an initiator. It's energy activates. So it may seem that suddenly everyone is "hot to trot." The Take Away Keep in mind this is an evolutionary phase that happens approximately every eighteen years. This is part of the human evolutionary spiral, and everything depends on consciousness and our choices. The thing that you get to control is your choices and your conscious awareness. Choose love not fear. What you choose matters. It's important. You are important. You are a powerful creatrix, and you are creating with every single breath, sending ripples out into the universe. What are you choosing? Remember, as within so without. Whatever you choose is what you end up generating within. You cannot choose one thing for yourself and something different for another or the world. So let it be love. Choose yourself. Choose love. And you are automatically choosing love for everyone else too. And what could be a better thing to create than that?
And it's about doing the healing, belief, and shadow work to clear the fear and blocks that have been holding you back in a safe and supported container.

Pluto squaring up to the moon's nodes as it transitions from Capricorn to Aquarius means one thing: this is a year of major release for us. This energetic dynamic began creeping in in early March, and stays in play through early December, but it's peaking from July 25th until August 5th (right with the powerful August 1st Aquarius full super moon) and will begin to fall off in alignment with Venus stationing direct in Leo September 3rd - the deep release of past Pluto is demanding of us now on a soul level in order to free up energy to create the "new" of our future is intrinsically interwoven with Venus' retrograde in Leo (July 22nd to September 3rd)- "a rebirth to self-worth." Pluto last changed signs in 2008, and once it lands in Aquarius for good mid-January, it won't change signs again until 2044. That's a big deal. It means one era is ending and another is beginning, and that shift is spanning the better part of 2023. The nodes are the north node and south node of the moon, the calculated points, or shadow nodes of the moon, that represent future, destiny, appetite, and increase, and past, fate, karma, and release, respectively (with the north node being the point of future and south node being the point of past). These nodes are what determine the signs of our eclipses. They move backwards around the zodiac and change signs every eighteen months. On July 18th, we have a vibe shift in store as the north node moves out of Taurus, where it's been since January 2022, and lands in Aries, sign of self, and the south node leaves Scorpio for Libra, sign of relationship. Things are changing, clearly. Pluto is the planet of power, yes, and "Lord of the Underworld." But Pluto is ultimately a planet of regeneration - of the process of energy changing from one form to another. It's all energy, and energy doesn't go away, it only changes form. It's not so much "release," as it is "transmute," and you're the alchemist of your life. You're the one with the power. Pluto rules the cycle of destruction and creation, death and rebirth.
Call your energy back into your body - from past memories, from future worries, from other people and conversations, and breathe it into your body until you are completely filled up and brimming over with your own unique energetic essence and you are completely embodied in the present moment. Then go to work on growing your heart flame with love. The thing is, we don't have to worry about unhealthy energetic attachments and boundaries when we are completely embodied and filled with our own light, occupying the thrones of our hearts. We don't have to worry about defense or protection. By doing this, it's easy energetically for others to know right where we stand and where our boundaries are, and it gives them permission to hold their own presence strongly too. This is a completely different vibration than trying to cut unhealthy cords with others and put up boundaries and defend against attack or invasion. Just like our immune systems, a healthy system doesn't get invaded, attacked, or attached to. Come back home to your body and start occupying it fully and completely with your strong, beautiful, loving presence, and watch what magic transpires. 2. Instead of focusing on releasing, do this: Focus on what you are FOR. Again, this is a subtle, yet very important energetic shift. Energy flows where the attention goes, and when you're focused on releasing, your focused on attachment. Remember that the magic of your attention and focus only works in one direction - the positive direction - you get more of what you focus on. So it doesn't work to focus on release! You'll just get more and stronger attachment. The answer is to shift your focus away from what you want to release and to what you want more of in your life. Focusing on what you are for might mean focusing on what you want instead of what you are releasing by focusing on its opposite. Maybe you are releasing an outdated way of getting your needs met, like compulsive people-pleasing. Instead of focusing on not giving yourself up for others, every time you feel insecure and start to go there, gently bring focus back to you and your body and how you can meet your needs differently. You are effectively refocusing your attention on the opposite of what you are releasing - from others' needs to your own, thereby creating a new more direct and empowered way of getting your needs met that doesn't require self-abandonment. Or focusing on what you are for might look like refocusing yourself on the main want/need and cultivating its energy within instead of the vehicle you thought would take you there. For example, maybe the Universe is asking you to release a certain job or relationship, which was the vehicle, and what you thought that job or relationship was going to get you was security. In this case, shift your focus away from the job or relationship and move it to cultivating the feeling of security in your body and in your every day default feelings and being in the world, without that being attached to any certain thing. This is another masterful reframe to keep your vibe high while gracefully working with the themes of releasing and letting go in your life. 3. Instead of asking yourself what you need to let go of right now, ask yourself this: "What do I need to allow myself to feel right now?" This one is pure magic. Remember, it's about the BEING, not the doing. It's all about what you give your attention to, so instead of trying to stop the negative, we need to move towards the positive. Instead of trying to cut things out, we focus on what we are filling up with instead. When we are over focused on "letting go," many times it is because we are so obsessed with getting rid of something that we are only feeding it and strengthening the attachment and charge. This is because we are engaging it with it and feeing the energy even more. This is not how we release! This is not how we neutralize the charge of something in our lives. This is not how we reclaim our power back from a person, situation, experience, or event. As I've been saying, the best way to release is to stop focusing on release and instead focus on what you're for, what you're cultivating in your life, and what you're moving toward. It's good to bring conscious awareness to what you are releasing and moving away from, but that's really as far as it goes. If there's grief work to do, if there's healing that needs to take place as part of this process, yes, zoom in on that and do it, but do it from a place of whole-ing yourself and from a place of allowance and acceptance for all of you, rather than from a place of trying to cut off, suppress, or outrun things. A great way to do this is when any kind of discomfort arises for you in your body, when you start to feel agitated or irritated or anxious or sad, or maybe even when you notice yourself wanting to distract, like with a snack or scrolling, to pause and simply ask, "what do I need to allow myself to feel right now," and then do it - allow the feelings and allow yourself to tune in even more deeply to your inner truth to understand what those feelings are really about, one layer beneath that, and then one layer beneath that. Funny thing - when we start allowing our feelings, they start to become not so big and scary anymore, and it starts to come up less often too. And after a while, we realize that there's nothing to "release" anymore. That's pure magic - that's alchemy. And you are the alchemist of your life, a powerful creatrix.
