The 7/21 Capricorn Full Moon:  Breaking Free of the Fear of Success/Failure Double Bind

This full moon is uniquely intense because it is our 2nd full moon in a row in Capricorn, bookending the sun's annual transit through Cancer, it's at the karmic degree of the sign, and it is conjunct Pluto and sextile Neptune.

The Cancer-Capricorn axis is the mother-father axis, the family axis.

While Cancer wants connection, Capricorn favors success and achievement.  But Cancer is also the sign of family and tribe.  Many times, we find ourselves in fear of BOTH failure and success, because if we are more successful than our tribe or are breaking free of "family tradition," deep down, on a primitive level, we fear rejection and abandonment.  So we find ourselves frozen, caught in a trap where it feels like whichever path we take, our survival is threatened.

When we talk about "success" here, we aren't just talking about material success - this can apply to love, abundance, or just being happy in general.

No matter how this is showing up in your life, this full moon conjunct Pluto, and then Pluto at 29° Capricorn from 9/1 to 11/15 is here to help us break free of that trap once and for all.

It's safe for you to be successful.  It's safe for you to be powerful.  It's safe for you to be in your inner authority.  It's safe for you to expand into more love and abundance than you ever imagined possible.  It's safe for you to break free of limiting family stories and "traditions."  It's safe to go your own way.

The moon, the subconscious, in it's opposite sign of Capricorn, is illuminated by light of consciousness, the sun, in the moon's sign of Cancer.

Saturn-ruled Capricorn is a practical, worldly sign that favors rules, tradition, and authority. Saturn is also a planet of limits, restriction, boundaries, and fear.

Moon-ruled Cancer is the emotional sign of where we come from, mother, and tribe, intuition, emotional security, and belonging. The moon craves connection.

Full moons bring illumination - they bring what's in the subconscious to light.

On the Cancer-Capricorn axis, conjunct transformational Pluto in retrograde bringing lessons on letting go and reclaiming our personal power, this full moon can show us where we have been holding ourselves back in order to maintain connection out of fear of rejection and abandonment.

Many times we carry a deep fear of stepping full into our authority and power, because we fear it will disconnect us from those we love.

It can be especially hard if there is a family story and unspoken tradition around lack and suffering, or an idea like working hard is virtuous and part of the tribal identity.

Things like this running beneath the surface of our lives can have us in a double bind - afraid of both success and failure - caught in a trap.

This is a very Cancer-Capricorn thing.

This full moon is here to help you set yourself free from this.

It's time to go your own way.

The way to break free of what no longer serves is by cultivating inner security. Inner security gives you the stability within to break free of what no longer serves - including any false sense of security from "out there" you've been using as a crutch.

It's time and this full moon is here to help.
