Happy All Hallows Eve, Samhain, & All Soul's Day!

Welcome to the In-Between!

Today, Thurs. 10/31, we arrive at the crossroads - at a point in our annual solar cycle that has long been designated as the point where the veils between the worlds are at their thinnest, and we honor that threshold and connection between spirits still embodied on the earth plane and those that are in other realms. Halloween, All Hallow's Eve, All Souls Day, Day of the Dead, Samhain - this time is reference in many cultures and known by many names.

In Danielle Dulsky's book, Seasons of Moon and Flame, she calls this the "Season of the Thirteenth Moon - Becoming."

"There is a holy void that spans the space between autumn's end and winter's birth.  This, the thirteenth moon, is a time of nondoing, of rest, of tending to those deeper states of being that remind us of this one wild truth:  We are constantly being cocreated, molded, and shaped by cultural, societal, and ancestral hands; by our own memories as we choose to harness them and reexperience time; by our longing; and by our art."

"This is the time of sinking back to source, of dropping down into mud.  Though there are years when our calendar year contains thirteen moon cycles, most years do not have an entire thirteenth moon cycle.  In the Celtic tradition, the thirteenth moon is a brief season that surrounds Samhain, and we are called to wield our intuition and feel this cosmic void when it is upon us rather than rely on a linear calendar.  This moon wants us still and quiet.  This moon wants us attuned to the ancient pulse, to our most untamed state."

"Under the thirteenth moon....Feel into those moments when there is a blessed uncertainty, when some errant thought or external quandary sends you rushing to find resolution, and envision all those wild parts of your psyche coming together and simply being with one another among those firelit immortal trees.  Confusion is participation in the grand conversation.  Here, we rest, till life and death do us part."
Here are the "Wild Autumn Practices and Sacred Remembrances" Dulsky lists in the book for this moon.
  • Remember that grief, like gratitude, shows us what we love, and that our shadows are the most potent medicine.
  • Check in with groups to which you belong in autumn - collectives, covens, families, councils, work organizations, and others -- and assess what needs to go, what is consuming time, energy, or money that could be better spent elsewhere.  Banish and adjust accordingly.
  • Honor the dead often and well.
  • Grieve for orphaned dreams, for the childhood visions, the fairy tales that have failed to bear fruit.
  • Nourish the body with warmth, with rocking, with small practices that bring about an ease to these drier times of release and letting go.
  • Befriend the open spaces you are creating; don't rush to fill them too quickly.
  • Check on your living beloveds who seem too strong to grieve.
  • Name your tender aches, the soft and sad places, often; mourn for them and, perhaps meet others there.
  • Learn to love the mystery as much as the certain and sure.

Are you ready to release the past 18 months and prepare to start afresh this coming January?

Join me in "Manifesting through the Eclipse Portal ~ Earth Magick," Nov. 17th - Dec. 7th!

This is a waning moon eclipse portal that kicks off with a Taurus full moon with ruler Venus in Capricorn setting up for a magical retrograde and month-long regenerative hook up with Pluto, kicking off a brand new era.

Plus it is our introduction to the north node in Taurus, from January 19th, 2022, to July 17th, 2023 - it has been in Gemini since May 6, 2020.

Eclipses run in approximately 18 month long cycles, and full moons are times of completion and culmination.  Waning moon eclipse portals are times when we release whatever is no longer serving from the past 18 months in order to bring closure to that phase of life and start with the new moon afresh and looking forward.

The past 18 months have been significant for all of us.  Think about what the spring of 2020 brought into your life ~ brought into all of our lives.  For me, that was when the pandemic became a part of my personal reality and not just news.  March of 2020 is when my part of the world went into lockdown.

Eclipses bring lasting change, and this one is bringing good things, as both eclipses this season are ruled by the planetary benefics - the full moon eclipse in Taurus on November 19th is ruled by Venus, and the new moon eclipse in Sagittarius on December 4th is ruled by Jupiter.

That's why we are going to kick off "Manifesting" this time with a ritual where we name our desires, and then move into releasing and clearing the past 18 months, culminating with a dark moon release ceremony followed by new moon intention planting.
Join me for "Manifesting Through the Eclipse Portal ~ Earth Magick," and let's release the past and lock in the future together.

It's going to be beautiful!

(Be sure and sign up before Friday, Nov. 5th, to get the discounted early bird registration price!)
