Walking With Pookie: A Day at Elephant Nature Park in Thailand

Pookie and I took a walk at the Elephant Nature Park
​in Chiang Mai, Thailand, back in February 2017. ​​

This is a very pregnant rescue elephant, Pookie. 

We walked, and talked....

And then Pookie had some bananas....

And then Pookie had more bananas....

And then Pookie had even more bananas....

And I told Pookie about how she was a
Beauty Queen and an absolutely
magnificent Magical Creature....

And then we laughed....

And then Pookie told me a secret....

And we laughed some more....

And Pookie had just a few more bananas
while I told her more about how amazing she was....

And it was a really good day for both of us!

Many of the elephants at the park are there only because 
the park continues to pay their leases to their owners
to keep them out of abusive situations.  The fee I paid to 
visit the park and Pookie helps keep animals like her from 
being ridden and overworked in very poor conditions.
