Mercury Retrograde December 2023: Magic & Mayhem Carrying Us Into 2024.

MERCURY RETROGRADE 12/13 to 1/1 is your final opportunity to prepare for 2024.

This retrograde is bringing MAYHEM & MAGIC, but ultimately, this final preparation for 2024 is about tuning into your personal truth, belief, and core values and desires, so you are moving into 2024 in a soul-aligned way, upon the throne of your heart, in your full creative power.

2023 is a "7" year, and "7" years are times of transition and doing the inner alignment work that prepares us for stepping into our power to claim the abundance that's available for us in the "8" year that follows. That "8" year is 2024.

This Mercury retrograde is strongly connected with Jupiter in Taurus as well as the 12/12 Sagittarius new moon, and ultimately is bringing good things.

Mercury Cazimi & Solstice

Your "aha moment" comes just after solstice as Mercury meets up with the sun still sitting at 0° Capricorn.

Count late in the evening on 12/21 through the 23rd, as the sun arrives in Capricorn marking solstice late on the 21st, Mercury meets up with the sun on the 22nd, and then backs into Sagittarius on the 23rd as magical.

Turn inward, connect with your inner and higher guidance, and tune in to soul direction and desires over these days for rad results.

Mercury stations retrograde in Capricorn on December 13th just hours after the Sagittarius new moon and then will be moving back to just 2° away from the degree of the new moon to station direct. 

The heart of this retrograde occurs when Mercury makes its inferior conjunction with the sun, known as cazimi, just after solstice with the sun still sitting at 0° Capricorn.   This retrograde is influenced by Mercury making a series of three aspects to two different planets - supportive aspects to Jupiter in Taurus and growth aspects to Neptune in Pisces. 

​Things really begin to speed up by January 1st, and we'll be seeing tangible results by late January.

Mercury + Mars in Sagittarius Square Neptune in Pisces

Watch out for the mayhem part of this equation just after Christmas over the 26th - 28th as Mercury still retrograde but now in Sagittarius passes by Mars while squaring up to nebulous Neptune.

Stick to the absolute truth and watch energetic boundaries over these days.

Confusion and misunderstandings are much more likely now.

You may also feel low energy, but at the same time have an overactive mind and overactive imagination.

Puzzles and word games are a great solution to give the mind something to work on over these days, so you don't end up turning inward on yourself, lashing out, or both.

Be very careful with alcohol and substances as things can turn into poison quickly when Mars squares Neptune. With Mercury in the mix, words and thoughts can too. Purify.

Mercury in Capricorn Trine Jupiter in Taurus

Whatever new idea or opportunity that first came in around December 7th but maybe vanished over the course of December will be back by end of January with the 3rd and final Mercury-Jupiter alignment on 1/19, so not to worry.

The first of this series of three "good news" Mercury-Jupiter alignments is December 7th, the 2nd is December 18th, and the final one is January 19th, just one day before the sun escorts Pluto into Aquarius, beginning a new 20 year era of our lives.
