Have you been missing the magic in life?
The lunar cycle is the moon's transit every month of the entire zodiac. During this monthly transit, the moon moves through eight phases. Lunar Transits The lunar transits, or the moon's monthly tour through the signs of the zodiac and the aspects it makes to each planet from each of the twelve signs, tells us how we will feel best about ourselves and life from day to day, as the moon is associated with our intuition, feelings, and sense of belonging. (This is more complicated to work with - that's why I go over daily lunar transits and void moons in my newsletter. You can sign up here.) Void moons are when the moon goes "void-of-course." This happens when the moon is done making aspects to planets from the sign it is in. The moon is said to be void-of-course from the moment of its last planetary aspect until it reaches the cusp of the next sign and begins the process of making all of the aspects again from the new sign. These times are when the moon is "offline," since it is no longer communicating with planets, and thus they are times when it is best for us to focus on catching up, wrapping up unfinished projects or business, sticking to routine admin/to-do's, or focusing on personal time, self-care, and rest. Each lunar cycle also includes eight phases, comprised of four main phases, which I will refer to as the "four points," and the four minor phases. The Four Points of the Lunar Cycle The main four of these phases I like to refer to as the four points of the lunar cycle, because they function more in that fashion. They are the key points each month of new moon, first quarter, full moon, and last quarter. The new moon designates our new starting point each month, and the full moon is our monthly climax of fruition, culmination, completion, and/or realization. The first quarter and last quarter moons are the halfway points between the new moon and full moon, and full moon and new moon, respectively. They represent our choice points each month. At the first and last quarter moons, the sun, light of consciousness, and moon, subconscious, come to an energetic impasse that causes us internal conflict which to be resolved requires we make a choice as to what we are truly for and thus what we need to let go of, in order to resume forward motion. In this way, the first and last quarter moons serve as our cues each month for any necessary course correction or adjustments. The Four Phases of the Lunar Cycle There are four moon phases that fall between the four points of new moon, first quarter, full moon, and last quarter, and each have a purpose. The first week after the new moon is the waxing crescent moon, and it is our time to take action towards our desires. The week preceding the full moon is the waxing gibbous moon and it is when we push to bring goals to fruition with the full moon. The week following the full moon is the waning gibbous moon, a time of integration of whatever has come to light and/or fruition with the full moon. The pressure lets up as the full moon dissipates and this is the time when we feel a sense of gratitude and appreciate the fruits of our labors. This is also a time when we may want to reevaluate our intentions, priorities, and goals, and make adjustments, which lets us know what we want to let go of next week in preparation for the new moon. Then the week leading up to the new moon is the waning crescent moon, a time of introspection and release as we prepare for the new beginning that awaits with the coming new moon. If you are looking for more magic, more flow, even more ease in life, simply start looking to the moon. The moon's phases cue us when to take action, when to recalibrate, and when to turn inward and regenerate. Void moons support us in catching up and wrapping up loose ends and unfinished business, while the days preceding the new moon is our time to cocoon in preparation for regeneration. The moon through the signs and it's interaction with the planets lets us know what activities will feel best and be the most rewarding for us on any given day (and of which ones to steer clear). They say every season has a reason, and following the moon allows us to tap into the natural flow of life in a very intimate and ancient way. This is the Art of Consciously Creating Life. Change your energy ~ change your beliefs ~ change your life, and use the ancient wisdom of the moon and the stars to do it. Energy truly is all there is. It's time to get it working for you.
