And when the sky opened and the rain came, I did not cower from it or huddle beneath shelter...I stepped out to meet it.... ![]() I welcomed it. I had felt the restless anticipation building. I had felt the air hanging hot and heavy, pregnant with this storm.
Now I threw open the doors and laughed as I ran out to revel in this gift of nature and soak it in. I stood there as the rain pelted harder and the wind picked up and cracks of thunder filled the sky. I stood there, my sundress hanging heavy now, freshly soaked, with bare feet on the wet ground as the water began to trickle down, running slowly down my face and arms. I stood there and soaked it all in - the sound of it, the smell of it, the coolness of it, the power of it, and the feeling of release and freshness it carried with it. I was not interested in running and hiding. I wanted to experience every single drop and feel the power of the wind and the thunder and dance in the center of the storm as it swirled around me. ~Kasey Written in Khao Sok National Park, Thailand, February 2017 Comments are closed.
